Interesting how Bob Dylan just released an album and in his new interview with the New York Times he makes a similar analogy when asked about a lyric: "The song is like a painting, you can’t see it all at once if you’re standing too close. The individual pieces are just part of a whole."

the line "i used to light you up. now i can't even get you to play the drums" is so underrated. the way i see it, the person is talking about how they completely destroyed someone's life, to the point that they can't even do the things they used to be passionate about.

I wonder if "I C U" is a mini reference to the BoJack Horseman episode where he speaks about his mom saying that she "sees him" afterwards realizing she must have read the I C U sign behind him. Knowing that Phoebe is from my generation this would make a lot of sense.

😊 I don't think it Needs to be. The Song, to me on like only 3 listens (I'm done crying wtf), doesn't seem like infinite yk? It could be one incident, one mistake; reflecting on the repercussions. Sometimes people Fri*ck up and you're still with them. And if you did you Know you did. And they should too. I think it's just that trust that was really there. I guess it could be Over, but it's I Feel Something. And even if it is like a,, appreciating what was there because it's gone, that still is knowing that the Feeling is There. Sry if this is too rambly and disorganized 💚 I just was rly struck by the track. Ig,, I wouldn't say this is a Sad Song per say, yk? =} 🤧🐛 Gec gec
