Its not really a whip, it's a training cue, they are used when on a lunging rein. Friesian horses are powerful as well as incredibly beautiful and very very smart, so smart that they don't react well to aggressive or vicious people or training. What you see is based on mutual respect, trust and lots and lots of time, knowledge and patience. The horse has to really trust you to do this...

What breed is Phoebus? This trainer is amazing. He should train other trainers how to train horses. It's not only how he has obviously has trained this horse, it also goes to the horses basic personality, breed, and blood line, as well as how he connects with the horse. He has a strong connection with this horse. Just magnificent!
