I still love how Maya NEVER denied having feelings for Nick, she literally only gets embarassed and asks Pearl to stop, but never said anything like "Pearly, we are just friend, i don't have this kind of feelings for him", or something like that. Just saying, even though Phoenix probably never felt anything for her, it's not impossible that she actually did 😂

But yeah, it is pretty sad, so it is mostly about Pearl being like that because of the man from Kurain Village, but still, when it happens, most of the time, Maya starts to "change the subject", like it happened at Turnabout Big Top, and also at the second case of the third game, which is the case that Maya talks about the man from Kurain village.

Must be a translation thing. You might know her as Camilla/Millie because that's what she's called in your language. Also, everyone I've seen in the Ace Attorney fanbase calls her Pearl because that's what she's called in the English version. It's not that surprising for me to learn that the names for the characters are different in languages like French for example, where Gumshoe's full name was changed to be "Dick Tektiv", if I recall.

To everyone in the comments wondering why no one likes NaruMayo, lemme just tell you that the characters are canonically uncomfortable with Pearl shipping them and they hope that she grows out of it. They only see each other as siblings. Nick even says that Maya is like his "kid" who keeps draining his wallet to buy burgers. I don't think you'd call your crush a "kid", much less in that playful context. That sounds more like something an older brother would say. Maya's also Mia's sister, who is Nick's mentor. It would be breaking the bro code to date your mentor's little sibling when they're entrusted to you. Sure, you can say that it's shippable once Maya's of the right age, but it's not just the age we're talking about. Even when they are both adults, they still keep that goofy and silly attitude towards each other. Nothing passionate. That is no romantic relationship. I don't have the right to tell you what to ship, and it is okay to ship NaruMayo if you want; I'm not stopping you. But please, for goodness' sake, do not base everything off of an 8 year old's idea of romantic love.

As for Reiji in GS1-2 he tried to throw Ryuchi in jail and shown no remorse doing it. With that same logic Chinami X Ryuchi or Konaka x Ryuchi are canon ship as well. ''Even when they are both adults'' She's 18 years old since the second game and it takes place in Japan not Third World States of America. Neither Naruhodo or Mitsurugi has shown to be attracted to each other especially in the 3rd game where both were attracted to Chinami/Ayame in GS3-1/GS3-4.
