Wise words of advice. Remember, you have to "come back" the same amount of distance you traveled "out" after you realize it's too hot to handle.

When I was on spring break I went to Scottsdale to visit friends. Two of us decided to go hiking in the Superstitions, we left at 9:00am, parked under a tree covered with thorns. Hiked about 20 minutes and I sat under a rock for shade and told my companion to go on without me. He was gone about 5 minutes turned around and said it is too hot. We went down the trail and left. A couple of months later I saw on Rescue 911 (I think) about a couple going to hike in the Superstitions. It was the same trail. In short the girl after saying she was too hot, had a heat stroke and was life flighted out and almost died. You cannot underestimate how hot Arizona is in summer, it is so dangerous. Absolutely tragic.

When doing anything outdoors in extreme weather, you should never separate. Always stay close and within contact of each other.

Dang, sounds like Todd should get a different job, doesn't want to help, doesn't like the heat. Probably likes to stay at the fire department and just eat.
