I don't get these people either that have to get every game made even the crappy games that no one will play like barbie games,most guys don't play barbie,or lawn mower simulator. I considered myself a gamer a few years back with no real collection. I use to sell my games after I was done playing with them; there were no sports title. I remember selling a bundle of 6 for like $25 bucks. For me I thought I was getting a good deal, but I'm sure the person who bought it from me got a steal. Should they be giving me more money because they know they real value? Is that considered a no no too? Have you bought games under priced on ebay/facebook/thrift/garage? Has it been more than one time? Just curious...
@steviefreakinc6 ай бұрын
Typically if I run across a game for cheap that goes for a bunch online, I’ll say something and offer more. Not necessarily the full market value amount but I would explain everything to the seller so they understood. Take DBZ BT3 for example. Pricechart has it for like $185 right now CIB. If I saw it for $5 I would probably offer $50. But I would make sure to say something like “Hey, this game is worth about $180 online and you have it for $5. I could pay you $50 for it because that’s how much it’s worth to me” and if they decline then that’s fine, I’ll move on. This also depends on the condition too. Like it it was in flawless shape then I would try to pay a little more if I had the funds that day. But even if I don’t get the game for $50 or whatever I offer, I would at least want them to know that they could sell it for more. Whether they choose to sell it online is up to them because it does take some effort to do that and usually the people running yard sales are older and not necessarily tech savvy enough to get that done. But at least I know a reseller won’t be able to come by and buy it for $5 and make a video on it. And there is always the possibility that I offer more for it and they tell me to just go ahead and pay the $5 or maybe they say pay $20-$30. We never know how things will go until we try.

This list included games from NES, SNES, Sega, GC, Wii, Wii u, PS1,2,3,4, XB OG, 360, 1, and PS vita, PSP, with some Switch titles. So when it came time to showing the list, the total price was well over $8700 for everything and this douchewaffle caleb actually messaged me offering me (only wanted to offer me $450) way less than even the average pricing that I could get from DKoldies or gamestop all the while expecting me to pay for shipping?? You have to realize the differences between eBay and Amazon. People will for some reason gladly pay a premium on Amazon due to what it entails. Amazon prime and people feeling more comfortable with the seller on Amazon. Obviously there’s good and bad sellers on both platforms and this point does not stand for all people (myself included), but that’s how a lot of people still think. At the end of the day, it’s just someone trying to show off making a business out of video games. If it’s an issue for people to support him just don’t and let it be! There’s so many other sellers on all platforms that can provide the desired price in mind for the buyer. eBay and Amazon have always had some prices variances. All in all, good video nonetheless. There's a substantial disparity between the footprint of a lot of hobby resale channels and those calling out unethical business practices in some of those channels. Coffeezilla growing far larger than most influencers in MLM/crypto grift circles is the exception, not the rule - but does show the appetite for people seeking out content with an aim to protect/inform consumers in or researching various niches, and will likely only grow as the economy potentially worsens. Yes, Amazon costs more to operate on and has higher risks for sellers - that doesn't negate criticism that many of these premiums are egregious, and that the marketing the resellers do could easily be considered predatory (renewed titles without any attempts to renew the product, showing a game case suggesting CIB that will be in a generic case instead of pictures of the physical product they'll actually receive, etc), especially given they're targeting both naive people entering the hobby and family members/friends of hobbyists looking for a gift. The 'is what it is' mentality enables and perpetuates bad behaviors, and consumers have grown rightfully frustrated in recent years with being priced out of their hobbies by people not even engaged in them.

It's his customers who need to see videos like this one, so they can see they're just paying some KZbinr extra for the exact same products they could get elsewhere. If his customers would stop opening their wallets for Caleb, and start giving some of these other people a chance he will be forced to drop prices to compete or go out of business. Also, I have news for people on resurfacing or renewing disc based games. As long as the scratches aren't into the foil of the disc you can sand with some fine grit sand paper, and polish with some kind of compound(I've seen people use car polish or tooth paste even) and you can get that disc to work again. I was bored and decided to click and watch one of his videos, and god he really doesn't care about gaming at all or playing games. First off a lot of these resellers just look for the popular rare stuff and don't actually care about finding stuff that might be more rare or even playing it let alone for that matter. Phoenix Resale literally edits and acts immature in his videos, and the way these videos are edited feel like a Jack Doherty short aimed at 10 year olds. These people have burned me out of retro collecting and honestly don't help the market. I just find them to be losers , and that's all they will be. Also with the way some games get a rerelease like The Thousand Year Door might as well just get the new version if it costs less and plays better than the original. I'm still gonna retro collect but man I just buy stuff I'm passionate about owning and playing. Phoenix wants to go and rip people off period. Chase After the Right Price as well. Like I said these people are just losers and that's all they will be.
@steviefreakinc3 ай бұрын
I agree with you, especially the Thousand Year Door thing. I was thinking of collecting GameCube but most games from that system have been remade or remastered so there’s no point to collect it for me. Now if I played GameCube a lot when I was a kid I might feel different.
@LoLRyRyRon3 ай бұрын
@@steviefreakinc There's a huge market for people who wanna just play retro stuff and a ton of retro games have been made available in better forms. Like for example the two tomba games are getting a rerelease with extra content why pay over 100 bucks when you can get the newer one for like 20 bucks digitally. Like I always like to say Heckin Steve always keeps is real against these weasles like phoenix resale who prob has a base level understanding of video games are is so basic with his opinions . And I like seeing people like him or chase get called out by someone who just plays games because they like video games

This is a silly video as you're comparing 2 completely different markets to make it seem like he is charging high prices for no reason when in reality all he is doing is putting the items up for around Amazons market value, he didnt make the prices they were already like that, thats why he started selling on there to begin with as you get more money lmao. What you should of really done is just made a video comparing Amazon to eBay and complain about amazon and tell people not to shop on there.
@steviefreakinc6 ай бұрын
The video is about Phoenix Resale selling on Amazon. Side by side with other sellers on Amazon. I don’t know why you’re acting like this isn’t a side by side comparison of Amazon and EBay. I guess because I said his name too many times? Man I swear sometimes it feels like you’re just arguing with me just to argue lol

@@steviefreakinc You made the video comparing his prices (on amazon a completely different market) to other resellers (on ebay) to imply he is making up & charging random high prices like dk oldies when in reality its not his prices, its the amazon market values prices
@steviefreakinc6 ай бұрын
@@vlonethuggin2384 He is a seller on Amazon so yes it is about him as well as the other sellers on there. The video shows people that they can buy games elsewhere for much cheaper. Literally the same market. Amazon and eBay are both purchased in the same way. On the computer or a smartphone. So I’m not sure what kind of semantic argument you’re trying to have here.
@vlonethuggin23846 ай бұрын
@@steviefreakinc Then make it about amazon, not a specific person to make it seem as if they're a worse version of dk oldies when dk oldies are actually the ones with their own website making up random prices, not a random person like phoenix selling on amazon using their market value price that already exists. You might purchase the stuff the same way but thats not what makes them the same market, by that logic retail stores like target, nike & so on are the same as thrift stores, auctions & ebay since they're "purchased the same way", but they're not the same market are they? 1 is retail & 1 is the secondary market. The reason why they're not the same market is due to them having different business models, a different clientele base, different requirements/rules, 1 is an auction site while the other isnt & so on. If they were the same market amazon would have similar prices to ebay & a similar amount of sellers, but they dont as its more difficult to become a seller which is why the prices are higher as theres not a lot of them.

Ill be the first to comment the facts about the falsehood of this video. Youre comparing apples to oranges. If he charged ebay prices on amazon it would be ridiculous how little he would pull in. Amazon fba fees can be up to 40% plus storage costs. As a former fba seller. Its very easy to sell a million plus.
