Good they mentioned how good Derrick Mckey was, a legit 6-10 sf/pf who could jump, play defense, post up and shoot threes. This was his last game as a Sonic. He then goes to the Pacers and they get to the 7th game of the Eastern Conference finals in 94' and 95' while Seattle gets upset in the 1st round in 94' and 95'.

It's funny as a Knick fan, I remember a lot of those Knicks/Pacers wars. I never remember McKey being such a problem that he frustrated me. Reggie Miller, Rik Smits, Mark Jackson, all gave me fits at one time or another. But Derrick McKey as a Pacer against the Knicks, I always just thought of as ok. To see him talked about here as a guy who was important to shut down on a loaded Sonics team surprised me.

That's how good those 1994-2000 Pacers teams were, that Derrick McKey was the 3rd offensive option behind Miller and Smits. McKey was the glue that that held those Pacers teams with him playing the 2nd most minutes behind Miller. The Knicks defense really hindered McKey shooting. McKey though did not shoot well against the Knicks even in Pacers series wins (he shot 37 percent when the Pacers upset the Knicks in 1995 and shot a bad 29 percent in Pacers 5 game series win in 1998 ECF win over the Knicks and a HORRIBLE 15 percent in 4-2 series win in 1998 semiconference win.

The SuperSonics were robbed by homer officiating in Game 7. 64 Free Throw attempts? C'mon! That Sonics team had all the talent & a deep bench to dethrone Chicago in the NBA Finals. Kemp, Payton, McMillan, McKey, Cage, Perkins, Pierce & instant offense in Eddie Johnson who poured in 34 in the do-or-die Game 7 loss to Phoenix. But the league & NBC was salivating for a Jordan/Barkley Finals and made it happen. No doubt, Sir Charles 44/24 was phenom but he got a huge assist from the refs. Those 1993 Sonics given the chance might have changed the entire Bulls run of dual 3-peats in the 90s!
