Yu-Gi-Oh! 2 Mermail Link Era Combos: Neptabyss + Teus = Bahamut, Toad, Moulinglacia & 2 Firewalls

So today instead of shoving another World Chlice combo into your subscription feed I figured I could take some time to show you a really good Mermail Link combo for going first in the current format. Building the Mermail deck to go first has historically always given better results than trying to go 2nd every game and that ability to go first will only get better as more and more link monsters come out.

Jesset Carson moulinglacia eff can only be use once per turn.

There are several things wrong with this. First and foremost Moulinglacia is a hard Once Per Turn effect. It doesn't matter how many times you summon it. Otherwise we would've been doing degenerate shit with Dewloren years ago. Secondly, you cannot link with Moulinglacia and Firewall Dragon into another Firewall. When using a Link monster as a Link Material you can use it as either 1 material or its link ranking, nothing in between. You are only able to use Firewall as 4 materials or 1, not 3. You cannot exceed the link ranking for link summons so to summon a Firewall you have to use monsters that equals 4 materials exactly. So with Moulinglacia and Firewall Dragon as materials you can make a Link 2 or a Link 5. But definitely not another Firewall.

If it's relevant, the last combo you could go further by link summoning another proxy dragon using the elemental lord and the bahamut shark, which would trigger both the firewall dragons' summoning effect, chain the unused firewall to get back two dragoons and resolve the chain by summoning the two dragoons, then summon another bahamut shark and another toadally awesome. By the end of it you would have 2 unused firewalls, a proxy dragon, two toads, and a bahamut shark. The scary part is that I'm thinking there is probably a way to get one of the firewalls to have it's effect available on the opponent's turn.

The issue I have with that is linking with Glacia auto skips your next turns battle phase. So yea you get another Toad on field and get another negation. But your opponent now is going to get 2 turns to play before you can even try killing them. That card they draw for their 2nd turn thusly invalidates the advantage the 2nd toad gave you since they get another turn. Through summoning 1 Toad your opponent is playing on essentially 3 cards (4 in hand after draw with 1 either dealing with or being negated by Toad) if you make the 2nd Toad linking with the Moulinglacia in theory it makes your opponent play on 2 cards but in reality it doesn't. you cant attack next turn so they will draw again and be back to playing with 5 cards against 2 toads leaving 3 cards free to play with again. The not being able to kill your opponent after you stun their resource flow for a turn is a huge reason why I don't think this is the proper way to go.

In the Aqua Spirit hand, You could've also added Megalo from grave instead of Gunde to your hand, Gone into Gaia Saber to SS the Megalo on board with Firewall's Effect & equip the Mizuchi you forgot to search. You would've still had Room for Moulinglacia,Bahamut,Toad,& 2 Firewall.

You cant really "End" on Megalo. You use it for the R7 and then only way to summon it again would be to add it back with Firewall #2 and then summon it again. But that means you are either discarding the 2 Dragoons or you are playing this combo with a card hand of water monsters.

Hi, what do you think about adding an Infantry instead with the Bahamut's Goons, having so a negation (Toad), a 1-monster- Compulsory (unused second Firewall) and a removal? (Added Sphere into Pike which can discard Infantry still being negated by the trap and then triggering Infantry) What is more valuable in your opinion, a -2 from hand or having 2 more responses to your opponent's moves?

so I experienced it, and after like 3 weeks, I can say this combo is superpowerful, once is done your opponent knows he's lost especially if you discarded 2 strong cards with moulinglacia but... it's kinda weak, I mean if your opponent uses ghost ogre or/and ashblossom, your combo is screwed... also you don't always start with neptabyss AND abyssteus, so you can't use your combo and it takes 8 cards of your extra deck (well let's say 6 cause you can still use bahamut shark and toad for another combos) so yeah it's very very powerful but, it's too easy to stop that combo...

I am an OCG user, and I have a question. Firewall dragon is limited in OCG, so is there any way to bring firewall dragon, bahamut shark, toadally awesome, moulinglacia the elemental lord, and a link-4 monster in place of firewall dragon using the same combo with only one firewall dragon?

Haven’t been in the game for a while, but i have to ask; link summoning with tokens seems stupid. Isn’t the idea behind link summoning that you need effect monsters? Or can you use Scapegoat to make any link you want by..wanting to?

there are some links that requires just normal monsters (which tokens count as) or there are links that just require (monsters) of no specifics like Proxy Dragon & Firewall Dragon. If a link needs effect monsters you can still do a play with tokens to make it by stepping up through things like Link Spider to turn those tokens into an effect monster to link with.
