And keep in mind he didn't actually use it on him. Gaster just asked for an invitation to touch it, he just told him no. The bait was there, but he pulled the hook away before the bite. That shows growth in sans, he could have let him touch it. But he didn't.

Amazing job, guys! Looking forward to the next one! This part made lots of questions arise. Gaster doesn't seem at all surprised that they all live inside a video game. Does it mean he's known for a while now? Why isn't he disturbed by this knowledge? Has he ever wondered about the reality of "his own" choices? (It's something I've been thinking of for years now, actually. If their world's nothing but a game, then doesn't it mean it's not really Gaster who made the choice to do what he did?) Also, there are the theories of who "player 2" could be. I doubt it is Flowey/Asriel. So either it's the Annoying Dog (since he basically created that game and coded everyone's backstory and behaviors), or it's... Gaster himself. Zarla constantly seems to make parallels between the two, including the fact both the human and Gaster can use/write with both hands. Could Gaster be player 2 all along without knowing it? Alternately, it could be that the goopmonster is, and Gaster's still involved one way or another.

Player 1 is of course, that who controls Frisk, but "Player 2" is a lot of ambiguous. Think of "Player 2" more like a "Dungeon Master." It is possible to play "Dungeons and Dragons" with a single player character, with the other player controlling, or writing the interactions of the world, but that's not it alone. In such a game, sometimes scenarios are prewritten. In this story, we have a prewritten scenario created by Toby, aka the Annoying Dog, but we also have the author of this story. A more accurate statement of who "Player 2" is would be who is writing this story.

In universe, a Player 2 is inserted, Zarla, to create this perfect run, where normally it'd just be Annoying Dog.

y'know. . . this would be a fun fangame of undertale to play, since you now have gaster there as a character and sans and papyrus 1 thing I think would be a really cool detail is when you start the game you don't inmeadietly start the game as frisk but your introduced with a long ass introduction/cutscene of all the hand plates episodes and then your able to play the game, honistly think what would be cool to see and all. . . maybe the fangame could have a "hacker route" or something which allows you to edit your stats and even let you customise the "'chara'cter" you play as but eh, idk if this comment will reach anyone who can make a game like that so =/
