@@RobTiff0818 I can't be certain but I assume the pricing is at 0.03$ due to taxes because you can't pay 0.001$ in taxes and I don't know but these products may come with 2 different types of taxes, so the system probably can't go lower than 0.03$. There is also a fair chance that, if no price is entered into the system or someone accidentally deletes a price the system adds this baseline of 0.03$ as the price. Meaning there is a fair chance these prices often times are what they are due to human or maybe even system error. This can happen to the best of us. This is basically why she did the right thing. I mean, adding up the value of all those products, you know how much they theoretically lost? Since we don't know the exact pricing and if all games where at three cents for certain, let's just say all of them were: 1 game definetly 30$ 2 games probably 15$ each And let's put the other 23 at 10$ each That's 290$ sold for just 0.78$ meaning a loss of more the 99.5%. Wouldn't that ring a bell for you? If this pricing wasn't intentional, which seems to have been the case, she could be held responsible for this loss. So she did the right thing, asking her manager, else she could potentially lose her job. Sure, she said that "they can't go for three cents" but that doesn't mean she is this old hag, keen on not giving the evil resellers their goods. She probably couldn't care less. What she cares about however is her job.

The retail price was $ 199.99> But the price tag that was on the box to the watch, was $ 19.99... Obviously, that was a one hundred dollar mistake, pricing the watch at $ 19.99, rather than $ 199.99. I brought this up to the employee at the electronics department there, and he said that I still had to pay the actual price. I then consulted with a manager, he checked the other boxes, mine was the only one with that pricing error. I still, to this day question what the difference was, had all of the watches had the incorrect price, or just mine. The manager never provided me with his reasoning for that fact. But, it must have been in my favor, that only the box that I received had the wrong price. The manager begrudgingly gave me the watch, for the listed price of $ 19.99. I got lucky that day, and finally had something work out for me, when purchasing big ticket items. It is a great watch, but it does not play well, with my I-phone. lol. I have looked at the I - watches, and they do not stack up to the Samsung Galaxy smart watch. I am very tempted to change carriers, and purchase an Android phone, that completely corresponds with my Smart watch...As I have never been able to find any reason that the IOS operating system is any better than the Android Operating System. They both seem equal to me, as I have owned phones from both systems for long periods of time. I actually think that Android has some more advanced, and nicer phones than Apple has...

Former retail manager here, but not for Walmart. If an item is priced in the inventory control system as 0.03 cents, it's because the item has been on clearance for so long that the automated price drops have put it beyond the sale point. I worked for an OfficeMax location, and when this would happen, we would be encouraged to send the product back to the supplier for a rebate/refund for the return that would be higher than the clearance prices. Sometimes people forget to pull the product once it has slid below the functional resale price, as it did in this video. That being said, I distinctly recall letting a pair of clearance Beats by Dre headset (like, the wired ones when they first came out) go for like 20 bucks that was obviously below that resale threshold just because I thought the dude was chill, and I wanted to make his day. Corporate wasn't amused, but I was.

If scanned it shows up at the register as clearance & nothing stops the transaction, it's easy to miss if the customer is buying a lot of items or you just were never informed to look out for it. I sold a few items before that had that rang out as low as 1 cent.. I was never informed we should pull those items till like a year after I started working. I don't get why they just wouldn't block the SKU at the register so it won't scan in that case, or why the training videos for new employees don't cover that information. Their turn over rate is so high I'm sure most of the employees don't know the procedure for dealing with that & I'm sure that goes for a lot of other retail chains also that do similar things.

I work at walmart and can tell you this is completely out of the workers & managements control markdowns are often done by corperate & sometimes completely done by a system Once these changes happens management prints out labels with the new prices and delegates the new prices to the employees sometimes things can be in the wrong place and can end up making the employee throw out these labels out as some items end up being "ghost" items and getting labels printed for them when they dont have a location or have the same location as another item And sometimes when these labels are done you can discover areas that corperate made new "mods" for without managment knowing and you can find out those entire shelves have very lowly marked down items. I take the time to take these items to get proper discount labels while many employees arent trained to do this which is stupid honestly. Personally I think it should be coperates job to tell us what items are being deleted from a shelf location & to clearance these items, as otherwise new employees dont know what to do with these items that read "no location" legit its so frustrating to be told to fix an area up and get items that you have no idea where to put them because we have no designated spot

As someone who used to work for a large retail chain in Canada, anything with a $0.03 price tag is likely a specific code to inform employees that the item is to be removed from shelves. The company I worked for used $0.13 as code for "Destroy In Field," meaning the item was to be physically destroyed by the merchandising team, and they were completely unable to be rung into the POS. Reasons could include recalls of product or product codes that weren't worth the return shipping, expired versions of gift cards, etc. Mostly happened on outdated software activation codes, which were printed on little pieces of card stock, but would sometimes be for larger items like camera bags. Oh, and expired confections/drinks.
@aurelienlux2 жыл бұрын
It makes sense to destroy expired items like expired activation codes or perishable products, but destroying perfectly good items like camera bags (or even non perishable food products) is exactly what's wrong with big retail conglomerates and I'm glad I live in Europe where many countries have at least some laws against this (especially regarding food waste).

I haven't played Ocarina of Time since I was a kid so I actually wanted the game to play and keep with the case. Just 1 copy. Not 2 or 3 or 4. Just 1. And Majora's Mask I haven't even got to play. Digital is better than nothing I guess. I'm sorry I'm salty...it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Also, the way he talked about money in the last video, it didn't even seem like he appreciated what he had. I've NEVER in my life said "I'd only make $90 profit so I'm gonna pass on that one." $90! 90 freaking dollars! That's a lot of money where I come from! That's $90 profit! 90 extra dollars in your pocket that you didn't have before and you say "only"? I just can't believe it. He lives in a whole other world than me that's for sure.
@aidan40312 жыл бұрын
Being "salty" here is completely warrented, that would be a very frustrating situation. I will say, you can find pretty decent deals for these on ebay from NON SCALPERS, just make sure they are single sale used copies. I got a copy of ocarina of time 3d for 20 dollars, it was used but in perfect condition. Case and all. If you see any listings that dont have an original real life image of the game in the case, or they have sold multiple copies, run fast. Also check what else they are selling, if they just seem like they are doing an online yard sale you hit the jackpot. Avoid these scalpers and scammers at all cost.

I don't directly work for Walmart. I'm a vendor, but my company has told me on several occasions that they're technically not supposed to sell that type of stuff. I've never seen it on video games but it usually happens with like food products which is why they're probably not supposed to sell that stuff cuz if it's ringing up at those low prices it's probably out of date anyway, but I don't see why they couldn't do it on non food items.

We have something where I work at at Home Depot if it’s been sitting on clearance for awhile it will be a penny and we have an application that shows them being that to remove them, however if a customer finds one for that, depending on the regular price but we usually let them get them but they cannot go back to the shelf and grab more of them
@SourStrawberrys3 жыл бұрын
@ZeldaZ ZeldaZ That won't work because when the worker finds out that they are a penny (meaning to remove them) they will just go back and removed the rest from the shelves. Common sense would tell you the worker will go back to were they found them and remove the rest.

@@GamingGavel Way to miss the point. First of all, the scenario you just illustrated never happens because scalping only occurs when the artist in question draws such magnificent crowds that tickets sell out in minutes. Scalpers buy them cheap and sell them for an unreasonably high price like amiibos i think

Scalpers buy out items with limited release numbers, with a low edition size. They then relist at higher prices. The low ES and high demand is what defines the sub-genre of ‘scalping’.
@AlyssMa7rin2 жыл бұрын
Reselling is when you buy something (usually damaged or used) cheap, get it in as good condition as possible (Or not, I suppose) and then sell it at or below market value Scalping is creating a vacuum in the market of a product that is high demand, and then selling at a price that is multiple times higher than original market value (See concert tickets for thousands of dollars, etc)
