I found a surgeon who will do the hip replacement for me. My BMI is over 40 around 53. However, it's really up to the hospital. I will have to do a physical with hospital and get approval from family doctor, cardiologist and they might approve the operation.

4 yrs ago I a had THR. It was due to a pelvic tilt. There is NO arthritis in the other hip. Anyway I was diagnosed by my GP as having a "weak leg" and sent me to PT. No x-rays were taken. My leg kept getting worse and I actually had to pick up my pantlegs to walk at times. If I was stuck in the middle of the room, I was stuck. I couldn't move. Was sent to the ER 2 yrs later and had a X-ray of my stomach and my hip showed up. Bone on Bone. My PT was furious and said I shouldn't have had PT at all, as bad as I was. My BMI was 41, and the surgeon said nothing about my weight. I've done well during surgery and after. I continued PT after surgery. I should've been sent at least for x-rays or to a ortho. What's worse is 6 mos after my ER visit I was ready for my GP physical and sent for my records and I read the x-ray report and noticed it about my hip. The ER DR. didn't tell me at the time, the next day I went to my GP and she didn't mention it. Not until 6 mos later I brought it up to my DR and she was stunned and apologized to me. She had missed it. That's why it's important for patients to be in charge of their health and keep their own records and read them.

By the way my hip never hurt at all. It was my thigh that hurt. It was that I couldn't move my leg and I limped badly I never could figure it out.

My weight is 115kg and I can't loss it but my doctor say loss weight I can't even take a walk m 28 years old my heart 💔 so broken

Google "BMI calculator," and enter your height and weight. Then play with the weight until you get to a BMI of 40. That's your goal weight. If it's more than 50 lbs away then you need bariatric weight loss surgery to reach your goal. I'm sorry you're going through this. However, the sooner you get started the sooner you will be done. You deserve a better life. You've got this. Let's go.
