I have just listened to the whole album in Bandcamp and you can really summarise this as "German Alstroemeria Records" AND IT'S FREAKIN' AWESOME!!! Need this bad boy in my collection :3

That awkward moment, when you are listening to a Touhou playlist, expecting the standard Japanese singing and then you hear German... I was sooo confused for a moment. Although I do listen to German music, it's mostly Metal or Folk and avoid electronic stuff with mostly German lyrics, this one has grown on me. It's also fun not being in need for lyric captions for once. :P

Theoretically the Japanese of Gensokyou isn't standard Japanese but more an outdated literary Japanese from the areas of old Kyoto, not something modern Japanese won't understand but it's still a dialect distinctive from the more modern mainstream used in Japan.

@0:50 - while the translation makes sense one could interpret the german words differently. "Ich mag Ihn nie wieder sehn" could infact be translated to "I don't want to see him again" However theres also the possibility that the word "mag" is short for "vermag" (old word for can) and that would make the translation like this: "I can't see him again" Why do I bring that up? Because the song uses some old words that aren't commonly in use anymore. Also directly after that "So wie er mich wollt musst ich mich drehn" - "As he wanted me, I had to turn" This can be interpreted as "I had to change to the way he wanted me to be" @1:22 "Ich will nicht von dir gehn" (I think the 2nd word is "will" (want) and not "werd" (will) in the german subs) Could be translated to "I don't want to leave you" @1:33 "Doch kamst du zu mir und ließest mich ihn doch hintergehn" The Translation would be more along the line of "But you came to me and let me cheat on him" (or betray him) @2:45 "Geb mich dir ganz hin, trotz Schmerz und Pein, ich muss es dir verzeihn" The Translation would be more along the line of "I devote myself entirely to you, despite the pain and suffering, I have to forgive you" Whoever finds spellingmistakes can keep them

So this is a more out dated version of German language, when was the last time these terms were used in mainstream German, I am dating it as nineteenth century which would fit the cannon perfectly, I love the authenticity of the language wish more mainstream media used this approach.

The vocals in the bridge and chorus are pure bliss. I really love this album. I am german abut I dont really enjoy that much of german vocals in edm. In this album however they really merge well with the style of Alstroemeria Records. I think I am going to visit bandcamp right now and buy the whole album.

I love how they added the whole cover art and the lyrics to the album. Really nice. I would love to say that this is the best German Touhou album ever but they got some help from the god himself (Nhato) and I personally count that as cheating. :P

And appropriately for a German language song, the artwork gives Reimu a more Germanic appearance. I've noticed some of their album covers are like that too (especially "Mirrored Worlds"). (I guess it's a good thing Hollywood and other American conglomerates aren't doing Touhou adaptations then...)

I suck at that. I am able to understand written german and some spoken. Still I was able to translate the lyrics of this song, I think i got most of it right. Some stuff wasnt clear to me soo I may messed up their. I allways translate as literally as I can, without it becoming a mess of course...

Seriously it sounds like an Alstroemeria Records style song, but with Germans. I really don't dislike the song at all. Too bad, I don't understand anything, about German, and I don't like listen songs when I don't understand anything. I really love the picture, also.
@Kappashiro8 жыл бұрын
The album is inspired by Dancefloor series by Alstroemeria Records so that's why the album is called Promised Dancefloor. Babbe also released same kind of albums in the past too. Also the full album is non-stop mix. You should check the whole album. Even though you don't understand the lyrics the music is universal. It's all about the feeling you get from the song so I'm sure you are going to love this album.
@bioaffect8 жыл бұрын
Ironic you say this since 95% of the doujin music of Touhou is in Japanese. And most people here aren't fluent or speak/read an ounce of Japanese. But if you do, great! You should do translation work.
@sterngazer8 жыл бұрын
Hey! The lyrics are out of the view of someone who was abused as a child and now found a person they love, but due to their corrupted childhood they don't know how to love "correctly". Have a good day!

Yes, I agree completely with your comment. Few people know about Japenese. Actually, that's been one year that I'm translating songs, but not from Touhou. Touhou, Vocaloid and Kancolle are popular for me and theirs communauties are big. There exist already many blog with translations of the song or you can request a translation. So, I decide to translate/explicate original doujin CDs. My blog is Meriole and I'm transalting only my favorite doujin circle : Yura Hatsuki. My second work is my channel on KZbin called Cuthu lulu. In this channel, I want to post principally original doujin songs with explication in the descrption of the video. Sadly, I don't have time to translate many songs. But my channel has just only one month and there are few videos on it, for the moment. Even if I'm hard worker, I decide to make something to support artist. I have some relation with directly artist Japeneses that I will not explain here. Please be free to enjoy also the work of my colleague, Releaska, Fuyuko and others who do their best to support the doujin commauty.

You know it took me a while to get what in the hell is she singing about, even if the lyrics are in English, if you don't know the culture of the pre meji Japanese feudal society, and a little bit about seventeenth and eighteenth romance novels, you might be confused as to what on earth she sings about, if you understand the hidden message of the lyrics than I must admit this kinda deceptive wit is in line with how the girls are in cannon.
@HarryVoyager2 жыл бұрын
I'd be interested in the explanation. Right now it sounds like she can't be with the one she loves so she will love the one she's with, even though her heart's not really in it, and the one she's with seems to know it.
@BlazeMaster11 ай бұрын
@@HarryVoyagertechnically she's trying to seduce the listener, she's actually being a flirt and a tease. 😂 The him in the song is actually the God she is serving to, she's a shrine maiden so there's very little of her, but she's willing to submit to your every desire and in exchange you will be adopting her faith and becoming the follower of the Hakurei Shrine 😂 AND as I said I see the canon Reimu pulling this kind of honey pot trap on people in Canon especially anyone spirited to Gensokyou xD
