25w compared to 45w doesn't even make that big of a difference, only 10 minutes max. Your 15w charger was probably just fake and was a regular slow 5v charger. Most pd chargers are 20w minimum, so 15w already sounds like a made up number for a fast charger.

@@flyingtentacle7631 bruh the S10+ came out in 2019 that was when iPhones where stuck on 5w charging and a lot of androids still shipped with 15w charging however 25w charging was starting to become a thing with the S10 5G which was the first Samsung device to support 25w's. 15w charging I believe came with the s8 then s9 and S10 and it's been around for a long time at least on Android phones. Now apple has only supported 2 types of Charing 5w and 20w so obviously if you have only used an iPhone you would call 15w charging fake because iPhones have never had that speed before. 15w charging has been around for a long ass time and it's still used on midrange phones and budget phones since it uses usb2.0 port and type A to type C instead of usb c to usb c. After a phone is charged to 80%, no matter how fast the charger is, the charge will relatively slow down. That is why the gap was reduced between 80% and 88%. Because the 45-watt charger had crossed the 80% mark and had reduced its speed, while the 25watt charger was pumping full juice till it reached 80%. Also, the 45-watt charger is significantly better if you want to top up enough for the phone to run for the day or half a day at least while you have a shower. That charging speed for the first 60% matters the most, and that is where there is a clear advantage. I know the end result showed that it was only 8 minutes, but just want you to realise, that 8 minutes is a really, really long time. The ideal speed test for a charger should be done from 15% to 80%. That is where the 45-watt charger will shine. Also, thanks for the information about the thicker chord needed in the 45-watt charger! I had no idea about it. You saved me a lot of money lol.

Some of the information towards the end of this video is a bit misleading. The way charging phones works, especially with higher wattage chargers, is basically based on how full the battery is. As batteries get more full, charging speeds/wattages drop. This is inevitable. If you were to create a graph of battery percentage x charger wattage, you would see a consistent drop off or diminishing returns of wattage as battery percentage increases. This is true for any charger of any wattage. I do completely agree that 45W charging is at best a nice to have over a 25 watt charger, given the small real gains, but the majority of the advantage you will see comes from the lower percentage charging (say, charging from 0-50%), given those battery percentages are where you will actually be able to achieve the higher wattage values. It's not that samsung or any other company is lying per se about the charging speeds or power outputs, but more accurately that the science behind chargers and batteries restricts them in this way. For now, this is how batteries and charging is limited, and until entirely new technology comes along, this is how it will be.

The graph around 4:30 was kind of misleading showing the showing inequal gaps of time equally spaced out I know it's meant to show the difference between the two but it makes it look like the fastest charging happened in the middle.
@joebrdr2 жыл бұрын
Honestly. I'm sticking with the 25 watt because there is not really to much of a difference. Now if that was a 100 watt wall charger "which I don't expect to see until the next ultra or even 2 after that" that is when it's going to really matter but for now personally I would stick the 25 watt.

Hi, Once in a while I charge my phones via USB multimeter (USB OLED display tester J7-4T) on the same charging voltage/same charger so I can see the deterioration going on in my batteries/phones/etc. So, my old Galaxy S7 flat (3000mAh battery) when it was about a half a year old it could take slightly over 2100mAh, few days ago and yesterday (as I repeat the test for more reliability) it can take only just above 1500mAh. My Galaxy s20 with battery stated 4000mAH it can take just over 2000mAh- I do not know how much it could take when device was new as I bought it used. IMHO no app can tell you more and better than this kind of test. If I'm wrong correct me guys ;) Can you do some tests this way- with USB multimeter- for brand new phones and then compare it with used (a year or two) same phones? What do you think?

Note sure if it's me or the range I choose to charge my phone. I been watching these videos lately and decide to see the rates they charge. I been testing a 20 watt charger on my Note 20 Ultra. But it seems at most I just get 15 watts. If a charger is rated at 20 watts will chargers usually stay below that most of the time? For example in this video if I happen to have a s23 Ultra and use a 45 watt charger, would it hover around the 30 watt level most of the time?

Since my last comment, I've recently bought the 45 watt Samsung charger and it's considerably better than the 25 watt Samsung charger. Only paid 25 quid for it too. It's definitely worth paying the little extra for the 45 watt instead of the 25 watt. However, they are still half the speed of my old Oppo Find X2 Pro with its 65 watt SuperVooc charger which comes in the box.

In India new 45 watt Samsung EP- T4510 charger still not available. Some Samsung retailers advised me to buy 25 watt charger instead of old 45 watt charger for S22 Ultra, because of less heat & better battery health. Is it true ? Or should I go with old 45 Watt charger ?
@johnwisewords30662 жыл бұрын
Using a battery with a higher Watt too often will just accelerate the damage to the phone battery. Since the very old age, Companies tend to lie to customers when it comes to Number. Besides, it's understandable that technically most companies usually play safe, in which the capabilities of their electric device products wont be boosted and optimalized to the top level they actually can reach to avoid early damage of the device. Fortunately, that can make the device last longer.

Second note. I think samsung doesnt utilize the super fast charge like oneplus simply to save battery life expectancies. Lithium doesnt like to be fast charged all the time. It will fail sooner if continuously charging fast. They need a "trickle" charge to save its life expectancy.

Your exactly right, and it was obvious from the beginning, two of the biggest phone brands are using low charge speed compared to others. They can copy it if they wanted to, but iPhones and the galaxy s series are known to last years on end without any issues, and it seems they want to keep it that way.

Samsung claims that s21u supports 25W fast charge, but actually ,when you're using a pd charger that supports 3A PPS,the maximum charging speed can go up to 27W and it maintains the speed until the phone is charged up to about 70-80% ,this is interesting

I had the same question, and what I've been told and from what I have read the usb- to usb-c cable that will be included does support the 45 watt charging. And most cables should. I'm not an expert, but from what I understand, the device and the brick are the most important to be able to hit a 45 watt charge (it isn't at 45 the entire time) and the included cables and most lightening cables sold told would support that.
@yatindramanas962 жыл бұрын
@@T.D.8 The out of the box cable is a 3A one! The one that comes with the 45W charger is a 5A one! So it can output 5A × 9V = 45W (On paper, as this video proves!) Using this logic, the 3A cable in the box should be enough for 25W if the charger can provide 8.3V or above, which is not difficult! So it should! I want to if it actually does!🤣 Because this video has one solid takeaway, that being that charging claims are far off, more often than not!🤣😝🙈😅
