There is more. You can enable quick commands to where you nest multiple commands that she said in sequence( kinda of like a macro function in Excel) with a key word. For example, if you say "Hi Bixby, Good morning" - it will turn on brightness to max, open Google music to play your favorite tune, search your commute traffic and read emails aloud... all this from a single command that you can program to whatever you like.

I can't wait to pick up my Galaxy S8 next Thursday or Friday of next week! :-) For the haters of the Bixby platform, I am ashamed of you!!! As a blind Android user, way more things that Bixby will happily do that Google Assistant well, however I am not going to not assistance they make the software I truly enjoy on Chrome OS. :-) one thing David forgot to mention, was the Q&A feature, which in turn acts like how Google Assistant guys with questions. A Q&A, it's a close Q&A. I apologize for the last sentence having dictation issues, but I think you get what I'm saying. :-)

I honestly use bixby every day. I have it set to commands "going to work" and "I'm home" Each controls wifi, Bluetooth, auto brightness, power saving mode, performance mode, and opens google music. It's pretty awesome.

I've got Bixby set for 6 options . Home, Work, Going, Out , good Night ,Good Morning and be Quiet. Each sets the volume , Bluetooth on on/off , wifi on/off , screen brightness ,optimize and clear memory , play music , gps on/off ,mobile data on/off and some other stuff. TBH the voice commands when setting up don't really pick up deeper voices so I use the button and find it better than having to say Hi Bixby all the time and people don't think you're nuts. Easily a win for Bixby in the assistant category.

Bixby is pretty much a badass, amongst all the assistance! I've had my Galaxy S9 since summer 2018, and because I didn't know how to use Bixbyat the time, I shut it off. As of most recently, turn it back on play with some of the features and realize that Bixby has a lot of potential, and as well very practical! I'm pretty sure a lot of people we're like the way I was earlier, and did not want to learn I knew application that has so much involvement. Bixby is a very intuitive, practical, and an app that will not only learn from you but teach you how to take advantage of its many uses. This is a great video tutorial, and along with sakitech's videos, I've been learning so much about Bixby!

I say OK Google when they gave us physical options. Physical buttons should have more proprietary functions that you really NEED. An assistant or AI app is a secondary function that is best used by voice activation or app.. also doesn't bixby have it's own page on your phone if you swipe left? (I don't have an S8 or note 8 that's why I'm asking.) If so, doesn't that still make the bixby button useless? Don't give me an excuse about using it while your phone is off either. Who does that?. As an outsider I was confused why people hate bixby.. but now I see their main concern was the button and not so much bixby itself. Bixby seems useful. The button seems useless. It's good there's a 3rd party app to make it do something else.

The button is essentially the squeeze mechanism on the HTC u11 or the Google Pixel 2. Its pretty much the same thing. Also, you can't remap it on the Pixel 2 either. Yet I here no complaints. It isn't the button that people are complaining about, they're just looking for a reason to dislike Bixby before ever giving it a try. Again saying "hi Bixby", or "ok Google", or even "Hey siri", is repetitive and annoying to say every time you want to use the assistant. That's why Google and Apple always included a feature so that you wouldn't have to say it, as well. Such as the Mic in the right hand corner of the Google bar, that comes standard on every Android. Or pressing and holding down the home button on any Android, and the same with Apple. Samsung just included their own button on the side, to not interfere with the Google assistant. Again if the phone is on your hand its easier to just press the Mic on the Google bar, hold the home button down, or press the hold the Bixby button down and start speaking. Vs waking with your voice every time before speaking. Waking your assistant by voice becomes useful when your hands are tied, and your phone is is close. I use both Google voice and Bixby all the time and I never use the wake commands while holding my phone. Its pointless, and slower.

jonjoe89 it's not comparable to the HTC u11 squeeze. Not even Google's squeeze is comparable to the HTC u11. I had the u11 and set my main squeeze (ha) to flashlight and secondary squeeze to something else.. I forgot. HTC gives you quite a few options for squeeze. Google does not. As far as I know, that's why people complain about the Google squeeze the same way they complain about bixby button

Wow, this is impressive. Now I have even more of a reason to switch to android! I am currently using an iPhone, and Siri can't do 75% of what Bixby can. I love how you are able to take control of your phone with her, And just how much you are able to control. That's so cool! I will say that I wish her voice was a little different, even though I think the Stephanie voice is nice, the name "Bixby" gives off a sort of cartoonish vibe, and to me a more cutesie-sounding voice would fit him/her perfectly!

The main thing I have missed about switching to Android had been Siri. Bixby looks to pretty awesome. Might have to upgrade my S7.

If you do, you won't regret it! It's for the Bixby "quick command" feature alone I'll be enjoying once I get my GS8 this Thursday from T-Mobile USA! Oh, and its "voice unlock" feature too.

Using Note 9 and using Bixby more and more, specially when driving and i don't even have to touch my phone. That's a lot of R&D put into this phone and Bixby.
