Great job! 🫶🏼 But I'd like to pose two questions: 1. What do you mean when you speak about the study of functions and patterns of sounds? 2. When we do phonetic transcriptions, we are working beyond the actual pronunciation or auditory articulation of sounds? Why do not call it, then, phonological transcription? Thank you very much in advance!

Thank you very much for your great interest. 1. As for as functions and patterns are concerned, we study phonology because the patterns are mentally designed by the learners.

2. We say phonetic transcription because of the study of physical properties of language. Hope that suffices you query . your questions are quite interesting and advanced levels.
