Ace Attorney court proceedings are absolutely WILD. [Spoilers for almost every Ace Attorney game, but especially the Great Ace Attorney duology] There’s Franziska and her constant whipping, Godot with his coffee, Furio Tigre and how he literally made the judge afraid for his life, gigantic scales with constantly burning, human sized flames, dead people inhabiting spirit mediums (mostly Maya), an assassin who only „appears“ in court through a walky-talky, MULTIPLE animal witnesses AND an animal suspect, Ashley Graydon legitimately trying to end Tobias Gregson in the middle of a proceeding, the crime scene being wheeled into the courtroom before the culprit gets trapped inside it and it goes up in flames, a courtroom getting blown up in the middle of a trial, leading to a completely new trial taking place in the middle of the first one, the entire British judicial system being overthrown, which involves a *holographic tea-party with the queen,* the wax statue of a serial m-der, the long-deceased older brother of Barok van Zieks, and an assassination plot/assassin exchange between Japan and England, and my personal favorite… Mia Fey giving Dahlia Hawthorne the LTG treatment. She literally tells her to ingest poison in front of an entire courtroom. And she was still allowed to act as a lawyer until the first game begins. Or, at least she was still allowed to enter a courtroom on the defense‘s side by the time the first game begins

The "double it and pass to the next client" bit reminded me of one time where I was playing Uno with my coworkers, and they had a deck with one of those 4 cards that you can write anything on, and written on it was "swap deck with other player of your choosing". There was also a house rule that if you were about to get hit with a +2/+4 card, you could play a +2/+4 of your own to add it to the debt and pass it to the next person. So after this happened for like, 7 turns in a row, it gets to me and I have no +2/+4 cards, so I have to pick up 26 cards despite me generally doing well. So I do. Next time it's my turn, the guy next to me (who had two cards left) said "do your worst". Problem for him was I had been holding onto the "swap deck with other players" card for the whole game. He never spoke up again.
