Its curious that these chaps are tasked with locking down the boundary of a city we rented from the Chinese against Chinese citizens from outside the city. J G Ballard references the fact that the Japanese guard force at his internment camp were mostly occupied with keeping the local population out of the camp as the Japanese army and the internees had the one thing that everyone wanted which was food. Everything became very apocalyptic in China during the era of the warlords and the civil war. 8:26
