I use the masking option in Sharpen to only apply the effect to the subject. It doesn't make sense to sharpen a blurry background plus it saves processing time.

Awesome, similar to my workflow but I’ll try some tips you have here. I always waited till end before I cropped anything then crop in Gigapixel. It really makes sense to crop first.

I have always used my Topaz plugins via Photoshop. After seeing your video, I added Denoise and Sharpen to my LR edit options. But when I try to open the DNG file, I get a message that the file format is not supported. What gives?

Did you manage to solve it?
@theheartofcraft2 жыл бұрын
What I was looking for, thank you. From what I can see, there is no option to run with Lightroom Plugin-Extras to maintain the DNG like the competitors offer. Can you help me understand why this does or doesn't matter? Just trying to choose where I put my money.

It would take me 45 minutes to apply and round trip to the Topaz filters you used as they are so slow. How in the world did you get them to work so fast?

What is the purpose of gigapixel here? Zooming in more where 1:1 is max, on a phone for example is nice. But does it add more detail?

For some reason when I’m done editing in the software it won’t automatically bring it back into Lightroom

I have the trial version, however, it does not appear when I select “edit in” in Lightroom. Do I need to change settings? Thanks

With the bird that small in the frame that seemed like a pretty severe crop. I think you could have left more environment around the bird and still had it front and center in the image. Just a matter of taste though. To me that cropped image looks like the bird is confined in a tiny box.

Where in this work flow are the lens corrections being applied?
@topazlabs3 жыл бұрын
I typically apply lens correction towards the beginning, usually when I correct for color and tone. I didn't do that here because I totally forgot to. :)
@markschmitz77163 жыл бұрын
@@topazlabs You would be applying the lens correction using Lightroom?
@KenToney3 жыл бұрын
Personally I have a preset for import so lens correction is on import.

Sorry but cannot see why you would crop original image before sending to any app, the more info in an image the better for the app to read from surely? Why put the image into Denoise then Sharpen as sharpen has a denoise option also, the more apps you use the more you degrade an image.
@topazlabs3 жыл бұрын
I chose to crop the image first because that is how I edit my photos. Also, while DeNoise AI has some sharpening capabilities and Sharpen AI has some denoising capabilities, they're not the same. The AI models in each app are specialized and tailored to provide superior functionality. We definitely recommend using DeNoise AI for noise reduction and Sharpen AI for detail enhancement. Also, Gigapixel AI works especially well with low resolution photos, which is why I chose to crop it early in the workflow.

Hey Russell I’ve always waited till end to crop in Gigapixel but it may make for a quicker workflow to crop first, less info to process. I also wonder why we can’t rotate image in Gigapixel (hence crop and rotate at first). If you aren’t going to use 75% of the photo anyway why Denoise and Sharpen that part?
