I have one Colorado & Southern Ry engine, an old 2-6-0 old timer that my friend let me build from his Roundhouse kit. Since Jim's death I cherish my little C&S engine and very seldom run it. Love your B&W shots. Cheers from eastern TN

I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I know the feeling of cherishing a model from a friend's collection. I have a few freight cars from friend's freelanced railroads on the layout -- some of whom are now gone. Not exactly prototypical, but my operators and I enjoy seeing them.

Another great video of a beautiful layout. I model Centralia IL in 1955-1960. Wondering if the coal that fueled the C&S locomotives came from the Southern Illinois coal fields and if I need to add some C&S hoppers to the CB&Q gons and hoppers in my fleet?

Thank you -- glad you enjoyed it! You can save your money though. Colorado had its own coal fields. The Northern Field is centered around Louisville on the aptly-named Coal Creek. Both town and creek are on the layout. You can see the Monarch #2 and Hecla Mines in several of the videos. They were featured in the July 1999 and June 2023 issues of Model Railroader magazine. We run coal extras (as turns) during our sessions. They will be featured in a future video.
