Do you prefer to directly use the buttons/touchscreen on the device, or a smartphone app to control your slider or other gadget?

I love it that you can upgrade from the old slider

yes that is definitely a big plus! You don't have to re-buy the whole slider

Wow this looks fantastic, such an upgrade from the original! Great review Richard! :D

Thanks Piotr!! Yes it is a huge improvement compare to the Micro2 or even Micro3!

Thank you Richard, your videos are ALWAYS fantastic! You answered every question i had. I just ordered the Micro 4 motor through your affiliate link to pair with my Micro 3 slider. I agree that the app, while good, is not always ideal and definitely slows things down when shooting. Im excited to have the controls on the motor itself. It's disappointing that you cannot control the PonsPT head with thise controls, hopefully that is something they fix. I also share your feelings on the waypoint system and how it's frustrating that it pauses in between each waypoint. This alone would vastly improve my use of this slider. You mentioned you are in contact with Zeapon, is this something you've ever discussed with them? They have such wonderful hardware, it's a shame that these small issues haven't been addressed. Anyway, always appreciate you and look forward to your content.

Hi Greg! thank you very much! I believe you will enjoy the new Micro4 motor. I think it is a great and cost effective upgrade for people who already has a Micro3 like yourself Re the pause, I have communicated with Zeapon multiple times and I believe they have heard that same request/complaint from other users as well. I notice they have fixed a few other bugs so not sure if there are technical challenges or something else that stopped them from fixing this. But the more people talks about it, i guess there is a bigger chance Zeapon will do something about it. So if anyone reading it also want it to be fixed, drop a message here as I'm sure Zeapon is reading the comments here :)

Great to see a video about this type of products, such as sliders.

New motor module does look fantastic! Hopefully they give the same treatment to pan and tilt modules. And they really need to work on the app’s connectivity and realiability

I’d love if zeapon made a camera job like Edelkrone. It’s an underserved category

Hey nice video! Can you maybe make a video tutorial about mounting the camera with the quick-change-header on the PT Pons Motorized Pan head? I mean the magnetic one - i always have huge problems when removing the camera .. it always lasts so hard on the magentic quick-fix - i need a tip for that problem :/ maybe you know how to easily remove the camera?

Very nice review as usual! The Micro4 looks good. I also don't like using smartphone app and much prefer physical button or on-device touchscreen control.

Thank you for this review. Zeapon is really pushing the slider market. I have the Micro 3 and of course I would be interested in the Micro 4. But I currently have no use case for either of them. But if that would change, I would probably upgrade to Micro 4. Are the Micro 3 pan/tilt addons compatible with Micro 4 or do you need newer version for the Micro4? Do you know cheap batteries for Micro3/4. ?
@TheRealRichardWong14 күн бұрын
Yes the pan head you bought earlier would still work. The pan head I got is the earliest preproduction sample back when the PONS PT was initially launched. I just need to update the firmware to latest using the Zeapon Lab app and the it works with the Micro 4.

does it still stop after each keyframe? That was one of the major disadvantages of v3.

Yes it does unfortunately, I mentioned it in this video as well

It shows out of stock I used your link

hi there, i checked with Zeapon, they said it still take maybe 20 days or so for the stock to arrive Amazon. Zeapon suggested if you want it urgently, you could order from Aliexpress right now: www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808203482739.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2usa4itemAdapt Having said that, the Chinese new year is in a few days time and the whole country will be in holiday mode for about 2 weeks, so i may suggest wait for Amazon to have stock instead. Sorry about that.

Thanks for the review. I won’t be purchasing though. Need a slider with integrated controls for the pan-tilt and slide. Zeapon still has the pan-tilt as a fundamentally separate system, a shame.
@TheRealRichardWong16 күн бұрын
Yes I would like to see integrated control on the slider itself. Zeapon does have the Axis slider which has integrated pan head (but not tilt)
@Trevellian16 күн бұрын
@@TheRealRichardWong Zeapon keeps incrementally updating the slider, (and the upgrades seem nice) but they have neglected integration with pan-tilt. They need to integrate PONS power and control into that of the slider. Or allow PONS to fully control the slider. One or the other, but it needs to be integrated. A single control point with a single power source. Most optimal would be a slider a user could manually pan, tilt, and slide to create an A-point, then manually pan-tilt and slide to b-points, c-points, d-points. Perhaps also controlling a focus or zoom wheel on the lens. It would be a large undertaking, but we can hope.
