I agree with your views on carbon. My major issue with carbon is that if you're out on the trail and it breaks, you have to walk back, but with alloy, you can ride it back, albeit gently. Steel can be repaired easier as well, and say you want to update the geometry, just go to a local frame builder, and they can help! I love how you put the "carbon will last longer than religion" thing in! We need to figure out better ways to recycle carbon

Cheers bud, glad you liked the vid, it's mostly just me ranting to myself but glad it struck a cord. 🤘 steel is pretty outstanding as a material but I still think there is a place for high quality alloy.

Loving my carbon bikes 🤷🏻‍♂️ On the other hand, I recycle a LOT more, and respect environment a LOT more than some aluminium bike owners I know. Great channel btw.

Ah thanks I try 😉 I think as individuals we all have a certain amount of energy and ability when it comes to environmental impact and recycling. You place your energy's in one direction and less so in others. So having a carbon bike is a judgement only you can make based on what you value and what you do else where in your life to minimise your environmental impact. So I don't judge others for having them as I don't know the personal judgements only they could make.

It was a good question, i remember seeing a pic of carbon rims that had failed QC pilled up bigger than a shipping container a few years ago and its shaped my view of it as a material ever since. The 🤗 tha is for the support and the question, hopefully be able to ride together some day!!
