In this series we detail the mayor photoelectric sensor types and demonstrate their uses. For part 2 of the series we take a look at how retro-reflector sensors work by examining the Datalogic S100 Universal Miniature sensors. We also get into the details of how a polarized retro-reflector can tell the difference between reflective objects.
The following videos in this series will feature diffused sensors and other variations such as fixed focus and background suppression proximity sensors.

Can you connect 2 sensors on the same communication cable and make it work in series by changing the plc program? Or does it need its separate communication cable?

The S100 photoelectric sensors use a single wire for the output of the sensor. Combining two outputs into one cable would be possible, but I don't think you could tell which output signal was sent from what sensor. The PLC would see the output trigger but there is no way to assign a unique output to each sensor (these are not advanced/smart sensors, just simple PNP or NPN outputs).

Does the photoelectric sensor signal reflected back when it got incident with its own signal (produce by another photoelectric sensor )?

They aren't very smart sensors

Can i use it for counting bag of a conveyor...

Yes, if you connect the sensor to a PLC you can program it to count the amount of times the beam is broken as bags on a conveyor pass by it. As long as the bags are spaced out on the conveyor (don't overlap) this should be a reliable method of counting them as they pass.

Wiring an NPN sensor into a PLC can be done many ways. Do you have more information on which PLC you are using?
