Thanks for the wonderful and inspiring event. Although I would've liked to have seen more technical details, especially about star trails, I enjoyed the event immensely. I didn't do much Milky Way photography this year so this event gave me a nice swift kick!

Love this in depth advice. Got my first shot of the milky way the other day in seadrift, Texas. My time lapse was interrupted by some clouds though. Going to try Big Bend National Park here in Texas next!

The problem with the idea of turning off outside lights at night is that it is unsafe and invites criminals to target the house because they want to hide in the shadows. Putting covers to block lights from going up directly still does not solve reflected light but significantly reduces light pollution.
