Very poor acting. Emergency procedures: exceed usual angle of departure, nose down all hands on controls, fly the airplane. Departure in a 74 is full throttle, vr rotate for load, dens-alt, fly best departure. Exceed any of those perimeters, emergency procedures. The ultimate findings unfortunately were... load broke loose shifted cargo aft and they were never going to, physics against their success, recover from a departure stall. God rest in peace.

This B-747 aircraft had 80 tons of armored and mine-detecting vehicles in the cargo, improperly secured, and a heavy vehicle in the cargo broke loose and crashed into the rear of the hold, damaging hydraulics, thus the pilots had no control -- the aircraft nosed up and stalled. 7 crew were lost.

So true. But I am an amateur photographer of great experience. When I am in photo mode I am always seeking The Shot. Like a rifle to a Marine, my camera is my weapon, without me my camera is nothing, without my camera I am useless. Shoot fast, first, always. But he is a professional, and all of the pros I know are ALWAYS looking for the Money Shot, THE PICTURE. They live for that one moment of photographic glory. And believe me, real photography is a demanding job that requires skill and devotion, as any true art does. It is an art, and art sometimes demands detachment, at least for a time. You cry later.

If that plane stall it's impossible to recover with that masive and heavy plane with full fuel and the altitude needed to recover is too low.
@durururururururu4 жыл бұрын
The weight was within the limits. The reason it crashed was a heavy 12-16 tonn vehicle wasn't strapped correctly so when the pilot took off on a steep angle, the vehicle broke off and hit 2 hydrolic pumps and a pole that controlled the back fin (i don't know the name). Due to the damage at the back, pilots couldn't push the nose down and it stalled and crashed. There was a video showing the crash from a car dashcam. it was haunting.

I saw the actual footage when I became a ramp agent for Menzies Aviation. The cargo wasn't loaded right and all slide to the back of the plane, at least that is what our trainer told us.
@georgemallory7974 жыл бұрын
What everyone witnessed is why, during flight training, we practice stalls at altitudes that permit full recovery after a planned loss of several thousand feet of altitude. These guys were just getting the wings flying again and airspeed to increase, but would have needed about 5,000 feet of ground carved out beneath the real ground level to have recovered. Even if that could have magically happened, with a CG that shifted drastically aft of the rearmost allowable limits, the whole process would have viciously repeated itself. This was impossible for any pilot on the planet to recover from. Neither Chuck Yeager nor Sully nor Al Haines could have saved this doomed bird. Awful.

National Airlines Flight 102, a cargo plane, crashed on April 29, 2013, shortly after takeoff from Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan. The aircraft was a Boeing 747-400 freighter, and it was carrying military vehicles, including several Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles, which are extremely heavy. The crash was caused by the improper securing of cargo. One of the MRAP vehicles came loose and shifted toward the back of the aircraft during takeoff. This sudden shift in weight caused the aircraft to pitch upward uncontrollably, leading to a stall and crash. The crash was captured on a dashcam video, which shows the aircraft climbing steeply before stalling and falling to the ground. All seven crew members on board were killed. The official investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) found that the cargo had not been properly secured, and this led to the fatal shift in weight distribution during the critical phase of takeoff.

Every shutter bug I have ever known is constantly assessing their surroundings, considering possible shooting angles, light, etc. In short, they were always ready to take photos. As a photographer myself I know that the difference between a bad shot and a priceless shot can be just a fraction of a second. And when I am in photo mode I am ALWAYS looking for a unique shot, for what I call the slap shot. I went by the adage more is better than less, take every shot that you can, especially with today's electronic photo media, SD cards and the like, are erasable and so are reusable, unlike film, which of course is a one shot deal. I may be being too critical but I hope I wouldn't have let this drama get away from me without at least one photo.

I wonder where they went, one second they were alive and the next gone, they got to experience the one thing we all eventually will, death.
@linanicolia13634 жыл бұрын
We are made of energy ! we occupy organic bodies for a very short time. At the time of death, that energy we name ( soul ) leaves and goes to the next dimension. In some cases, the soul may actually leave before the impact. I don't think it makes a difference either way. The bodies are destroyed but the energy goes on, in various dimensions and opportunities. All the people who survived after a NDE talk about a loving place, they really do not want to leave. We just have to wait and see, until it happens to us. One thing is certain, there is no fear and no pain, but adjustment to have so much freedom. Also, it seems no one is actually missing their loved ones and that is a very interesting concept. The emotions are not going into that other side. It becomes pure objectivity and wonderment. Emotions are only related to having an organic body. If families would understand this, they would feel much better. The pain is just focussed on their loss and it is another selfish attitude we exhibit while alive. We should celebrate any passing but instead, we mourn these loved ones. It would make it easier to let them go ! Not easy.

Only if you assume the cargo had not moved, which was the cause. Once it moved, they were as good as dead. A military pilot would never have done what you suggest, because only an idiot thinks its possible. The aircraft was out of balance after the cargo moved by several tonnes to the rear, it was uncontrollable.

Not only did the cargo move, it destroyed vital controls in the back of the aircraft. According the episode this clip is from, if it was simple load shift, the pilots would have regained control in the nick of time but with the controls in the back destroyed, they had no hope. The only thing that could have prevented the crash was if National Airlines gave its load masters a better manual that was written by someone who knew physics.

They loaded 4 tanks as cargo. One got loose and destroyed the hydraulic sytems and a spindle responsible for trimming the airplane. As result no steering was possible.

Frederik Dürr Did you just say some random words in hopes that someone would believe you? I watched the episode, they simply forgot to repair the engine after a previous flight.

Read it.

Not so happy Aleks What are you even talking about, this *was* caused by an army vehicle moving inside the cargo hold, destroying the black boxes and unbalancing the plane, making it impossible to recover. I've seen the episode multiple times, and there wasn't any engine failure.

In afganistan it is required to make a steep climb to minimise a risk of a missle strike (like what happend with the DHL airbus a300) the straps that were holding army vechicle Snapped because it was too loose The vechicle went backwards damaging the bulkhead thus damaging hydraulics lines and also making the weight shift to the rear which explains why the climb was too steep unfortunately there was no way to recover even if the hydraulic lines were not damaged because the plane was too slow and too low they were FU**ED from the beginning they all died because the airline wasnt following the proper way to apply the straps

The problem is a tank inside the back section fell to the tail section, destroying the Data Recorder and tail. The plane stalled.

It's very similar to the real footage

RIP to the all the trucks in the back of the plane that were written off. The pilots looked very INCOMPETENT.

flying is more like playing russian roulette while wearing a juggernaut helmet with the gun on safety. driving a car is actually playing russian roulette.

Imagine my horror when I say that on TV and knowing one of the few pilots that flew 747s for National. He was on rotation and back here in the states.
