Brilliant blog this week and most entertaining but I have to confess I was more interested in the Triumph than the photography let's face it we can go out any day to take pictures but we can't go out any day on a Triump (was it a Boni) I loved them when I was a teenager 60 odd years go, Meriden was only about 20 or so miles away from where I lived, but then marriage got in the way and my biking days where over! The pictures were great I loved the avenue of Tree's, and what a great day you had for taking pictures and yes you were right all we needed was a bit of mist! I am glad you mentioned about the distortion on wide angle zoom lenses people don't always realise that all those beautiful landscape pictures that we see are not real at all but are distorted beyond recognition. Thank you so much for sharing your photography with us it was most enjoyable.

Warning: digressions (and brackets) aplenty... Mike, superb again, thank you. I may have said this on another biker vid-tour but I have been following you since your Avebury-perspective vids - you were my first YT sub, I think (under a defunct account). I have phone-chatted with you and used your course. Each and every time you have been helpful, with all sorts of brilliant tips and tutorials. I did feel with competitions and websites etc you slightly moved-away from tutorials (after all, from your perspective (!) I guess you had covered them all). But I really am delighted to see your return to what you do better than any other YT photography channel of which I know (and I know a great many) - ie teaching. To my mind, your nearest "rivals" are Tony & Chelsea Northrup (YT channel), who are excellent but I still think the way you put things for newcomers to an idea (that is, even experienced photographers who are learning a new technique) is unsurpassed. I am delighted that you seem to have your mojo in full flight with these biker rides (though I would prefer a voice-over when you are actually biking, as I sometimes fear for your safety if chatting with us). But these are superb vids, full of interest about geography, history and culture - something akin to "Foxes Afloat" - a YT channel about two blokes usually on a narrowboat who, as they journey, inform us of the environ, as you are doing (for those interested, check-out their recent Loch Ness other-boating videos). When you arrive, all that careful - but with an easy delivery - instruction is there. Jimmy Young, the brill DJ, once said treat a microphone as if you are just having a chat with one friend - and everyone will think they are that person. That is your technique, too; it is a brilliant one for teaching. (The Foxes Afloat chaps do that, too, though their aim is more slanted to entertainment). I was watching Adam Gibbs (YT), t'other day, in Scotland. (NB: Gibbs is a British-born award-winning landscape photographer who has lived in BC, Canada for most of his life and travels, explaining landscape photography as he does so. Also highly recommended). He was explaining how to multi-shoot images, not just for bracketed-exposure and focus-stacking but (this was new to me) also for rough/smooth. - i.e. coastal photography: take long exposures for cotton-wool water and quick ones for movement then, in post-production, blend them to offer a unique image with silk-smooth water which actually has some movement in places. Anyway-up I was wondering if you would be interesting in covering multi-exposure images and the various applications of it and methods. Just an idea for a future series. Anyway, when we're next at the Calshot beach-huts or the Keyhaven-Lymington Solent Way or the Lymington harbour café, (some of Mike's fav photo-spots) we'll certainly drink a coffee or something (with close-up perspectives, of course) to you and your superb channel. Many thanks for all your years of excellent - and friendly - education and so great to see this fab new series. Yours is the first YT channel new photographers should subscribe to and then remain with. All the best, Mike, (from the middle of your county). Cheers.
