A nice spot and well composed images. Interesting to see you use the 32-64 and my quandary over keeping mine LOL

My most used lens! I guess it all boils down to what you like to shoot. I have considered selling it and using the 45-100mm more along with the new 20-35mm. But I might hold off until the tilt lens comes out next year? hopefully in the 30mm range
@andrewsimpson54362 жыл бұрын
@@QuietLightPhoto I thought the 20-35+45-100 would be the perfect fit but i'm sure now, it would give lots of lens changes so I think I will be doing the same and stick with the 32-64. I recently bought the 20mm Laowa tilt, not quite T/S but perfect for 2 scenes I shoot often.
@garyverstick16202 жыл бұрын
Wonderful, ethereal stuff. I think you should revisit cropping on the 2nd pool where you felt the bottom was a little empty - I was just admiring the raw and how the foreground soft milky-metallic void interacted with the hard framing rocks. Just sayin… 😃

Reading these comments, I’m going to sound like the voice of dissent, but I think a lot of these compositions were saying black & white to me. As I was not there, I can’t say for certain, but, back in the day, if I had an empty film camera in my bag and a roll of black and white and a roll of colour film, I think I might have been reaching for the black and white. You may not see those rocks so dry again, so good to have made the most of it. It seems like drought is everywhere.

@@QuietLightPhoto thank you for replying. Do you set your black point/white point with the tone curve or with sliders? Sorry for yet another random question. Took some abstracts in a canyon recently, and have pondered if there is any real difference in the method.
@QuietLightPhoto2 жыл бұрын
Both, but tone curve is more accurate if you want to say bring up the blacks but maintain the same mid tones or highlights or vide versa since you can add points along the curve so that it is locked at certain times.
