Photographing Nasa's Bright New Satellite - ACS3

Nasa confirmed last month that the Advanced Composite Solar Sail System Satellite had finally opened its 30x30 Solar Sail. Follow along as I attempt to find and photograph the ACS3 satellite for the first time from the desert in SW Idaho.

I had a meteor land near my house just two nights ago. Is it possible that meteor was debris from the comet that just passed over us? I think I know where it might be. Please respond.

I’m going to try and photograph ACS3 here tonight (10/12/24), long exposure with a streaking result. I’ll be using my A7iii with either the 20mm f1.8 or the 35mm f1.4, haven’t decided which lens I want to try it with.

Nice video. But I dont actualy think the sail will work. Light carries energy, but no mass. So there is no force to push the sail. But I hope I am wrong. We will see.
