Every time I see a video fm Scotland it just so upsets me just bc i was not allowed to have a camera. Id so love to go back. I love that last few shots but the best one I think is the one of the water on the rocky shore that you combined. Great vlog again!

I really think these images on this video could be the best you have ever taken, the Hebrides what a place to Photograph, the light and the seascape is out of this world, their cannot be any better places of there type anywhere on the globe than Scotland. I must get there soon as I am getting old now in my early seventies and time is running out, lovely Video, Best wishes Merry Christmas, Colin.

Adam, what a place to be in the now, Scotland. In what I think was the final image, the grasses in the foreground look phenomenal, to hang around a bit longer for that [ perfect ] sky, might pay some dividends. Bill... :~)

Thanks for another great video. Your videos are excellent lessons, lessons in observation, lessons in composition, lessons in seeing beauty where I could not see before. Special thanks for the lessons on cropping the final image - I was convinced by your work that cutting off a third of the frame from there and a third of the frame from here is good - in the end you get what you like to receive. Fabulous!

What beautiful places, full of opportunities. One thing I very much like about your videos is seeing the unedited RAW images followed by the final result. I always pause the video and look at these to see the sometimes subtle and not so subtle differences. Please continue to do this.

Yes. I've gotten into the habit of trying to decide how I would crop and edit the raw image before seeing the final edit. I've learned a lot by doing that.

Very beautiful pictures! I consider to get the 20-35mm or the 23mm. Did you ever made a comparison by yourself if the prime is that much better in terms of distortion and picture quality than the zoom? Find the zoom quite tempting…
@QuietLightPhoto2 жыл бұрын
Personally I’d go with the 20-35mm. Sharp, lighter than the 23mm and no distortion.

Beautiful images in spectacular places (some of which I am familiar with). I love to see other people interpretation of realties that I have actually experienced. I did notice you using F16 in a number of the images. I was wondering (in the GFX context) about your take with the GS lenses. I was also wondering how often you find yourself focus stacking with the GFX. Best

Is it good idea to have a rain resistant camera? It doesn't rain much where i live but whenever it does, I'm hesitant to go out and shoot.
@QuietLightPhoto2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think it’s a game changer. Most cameras that claim weather resistant are just that resistant to a bit of rain and dust but not continuous rain.

Great images Adam, I’ve just bought the Fujifilm GFX 100S with 32-64 and yet to get out shooting with it. I was wondering if you have to focus stack any at all as they all seem ack sharp front to back?

Some gorgeous shots. Is April a good month to visit Skye or Harris & Lewis? Are the midges out in April?
@QuietLightPhoto2 жыл бұрын
No idea never been that time of year
@chrisparker56842 жыл бұрын
Hi Derek, We 've been to North West Scotland for a fortnight in April for 4 of the last 6 years (pesky covid!) No midges, hardly any rain, and some fantastic light. Temperatures can still be very cold in April, with snow likely on the hills, and the hillsides are still wearing their 'faded brown' winter coat. However, the days are quite long and when the sun is out it can get pleasantly warm. The midges start to appear during late May, but are at their worst during July and August, especially when it is calm, warm, muggy and cloudy.
@derekcampbell44132 жыл бұрын
@@chrisparker5684 Hi Chris, thanks so much for sending me this info. Sounds like you know this area well. So good to hear that there is some great light in April, no midges, and little rain. This is my first trip in 3 years ( damn Covid), and I am looking forward to visiting Skye. I only have 5 days so Lewis & Harris will have to wait until my next visit. Thanks again & have a great holiday season.

Adam - I’ve enjoyed your channel for years and admire the work that you do here! I am however disappointed to see that you (like many other “instructors”) decided to take personal time to Vlog and photograph that inlet on your clients time. Granted, I have no clue what the situation was at the time but it only seems appropriate to spend your time with clients when they are paying for it. It would have been interesting to hear you coach a client through those comps that you took for yourself. The last and final workshop I attended, the instructor (very well known American) broke off from the group on his own, scaled the tallest dune and preceded to shoot a sunset. One of those images from that evening sits in his portfolio to this day. Just doesn’t feel right. Anyway - just some food for though. Thanks again for all you do!

I LOVE your work Adam and have been following you for ages now but when you combine bits and pieces from different images to make the one image it's just not cricket in my opinion 》 and so unnecessary. However, I'm sure Nick Page would be proud 👏 😀 👍
