Awesome beautiful place. Will definitely considering visiting there with my family specially this island. I love puffins I see them in Oregon USA during migration in June/July but so high and we have to shoot from below. Thank you for this video and thank you for sharing.

Great nature, great video, great story - you make me want to go there. Thanks for sharing!

You should go there - there are not many spots like this - even in Iceland.

Your video captures the essence of Grimsey - it is a magical place. I have visited twice and recognize many of the spots where you were standing. I found only two places to access the beach, so would like to find more. Do you offer photo tours there?
@GudmannAndGyda4 жыл бұрын
At the moment we are not offering photo tours, but who knows? It is difficult to go down to the beach on the east side, but easy on the west side.
@Aurospio4 жыл бұрын
@@GudmannAndGyda The west side, by the lighthouse? Yes, that is the only beach I have gone down to. The seaweed can be very thick!

The quality of your videos on my 55" 4K TV is the best I've seen. I'm sure the camera and lens is great but that does not always guarantee the quality you are getting. What settings are you using to upload that still maintains this quality even though youtube is compressing the file so much? Beutifull images and video... thank you both.
@GudmannAndGyda3 жыл бұрын
This is wonderful to hear. Most likely it is the quality of the sensor of the Nikon Z6 we can thank for this. We see a great quality difference after starting to use the Nikon Z6 camera for filming. With greater display resolution this becomes obvious. We are using the standard KZbin preset for 4K exports in Premiere Pro - plus selecting "Render at maximum depth" and "Use maximum render quality". Thanks for your comment!

@@GudmannAndGyda thank you for your reply. Many years ago I was a nikon shooter using film. I just picked up a Z50 and the images and videos look fantastic even though the sensor is smaller. I will be uploading some videos to KZbin soon and hopefully they will look good also... please keep publishing... I'm learning a lot from your videos. So many great ideas and results.

Great work ! My husband and I spent one month in Iceland for bird photography in 2019.... we visited pretty much all corners of Iceland except Grimsey... we knew we were missing a lot by not going but we plan another trip there after Covid 19 and will focus mainly on Grimsey. Iceland offer such a great variety of photographic subject.... How can we get your book about photography in Iceland? Love Gyda green jacket... is it good waterproof jacket? Where can I get a jacket like that? thanks for the video.
@GudmannAndGyda4 жыл бұрын
Great that you enjoyed the video. Our book is at the moment only available in Iceland. As soon as you arrive at the airport it should be in the bookstore. It was published shortly before the Covid situation and nothing has been normal since then. Gyda´s jacket is Dovrefjell which she has owned for many years. You find it by searching for "Dovrefjell jakke".

@@GudmannAndGyda Thank you Gudmann . Our bird photography trip took me a year of research to prepare. Sometimes a great challenge to get good information in english about a location which might be good for birders but not necessarily good for photography. I focused solely on birds but Iceland is such a beautiful country and there are so many beautiful subjects for photography aside from birds, ie landscape, waterfalls, churches, horses, village, people, vegetation etc etc etc... It would be great to have your book prior to arriving in Iceland.... it would save so much time of preparation and ensure people can plan more carefully their itinerary. I wonder if the bookstore at the airport would accept to ship it to Canada? Have you considered making your book available through NHBS www.nhbs.com/ So many people from the UK travel to Iceland and they are the store that was able to provide me with the best books and maps to prepare for my trip. They ship everywhere. Just a suggestion. Let me know. Thanks again fro the information about the Jacket also. Unfortunately it seems like a brand that is not available in Canada.... but I will continue my research for that as it seem the perfect colour and fabric for iceland bird photography.

@@chantaljacques7664 I found the book here: boksala.is and they do ship to Canada. But the shipping cost are expensive. Hope it helps.

@@NatJazz... Thank you so much for the information. I ordered the book and hopefully will get it soon. Yes the shipping is expensive but there is not much I can do about it. I think the book will be very useful in preparation on my next trip as I want to do more than just bird photography. Thanks again. that is very kind to let me know.
