Cute couple, nice island escape. I like all the sounds you’ve got from that place! It’s so so cool. Isn’t it amazing what microphones can do nowadays!?!

Gudmann, thanks for making this video, I found it very interesting. Even though I will never ever print as big as you have done, it is interesting to hear your considerations. I think in this digital age our photographs lie buried on a hard disk, and we never see them! Printing our work, even if not huge in size, completes the photographer 's workflow, and it is very gratifying to see an image printed out! Gyda must be very proud to see her work printed that big, then installed on the wall by professionals, and then your clients telling her that they love the result! I can imagine her pleasure, and it makes up for all those cold and wet days shooting in the field. I hope you have more videos of you and Gyda printing your work!

Hi, I am watching your videos about photography in Greenland and other cold places. They are great. I am wondering what footwear you are wearing!? I am starting out in nature photography and I am realizing that good waterproof footwear can be beneficial. Can you help? Best, John.

You are exactly right - when you break up the human form bird behavior changes, even with groups of photographers. I use this with workshop clients, giving each of them a camo suit.

Landscapes without a tripod, shame on you! These new mirrorless cameras with 5 - 6 - 8 stops of image stabilization are making photogs lazy in every genre of photography. Some great info & as always, enjoyed your vid & look towards seeing another. Some very nice photos. You ever closure bracket your landscape photos & blend in the editing process?
@GudmannAndGyda2 ай бұрын
Thank you, yes, sometimes - very seldom - I bracket and blend the photos. HDR blending is sometimes used, but I prefer to work with one file most of the time.

@@GudmannAndGyda glad you caught that. I’m sure I typed the word exposure. I bracket a lot but usually end up using one most of the time.

I’m sure this doesn’t apply to you, but I won’t visit Iceland because of their policy to kill whales, polar bears and pretty much anything else. Pretty savage people who do that. We have our own savages in the United States, unfortunately.
@GudmannAndGyda2 ай бұрын
Upon close inspection, we are probably all savages. The word savage has a lot of meanings - being wild, primitive, wild man/woman - yes please.

We are using inserts from F-stop gear. The size for the 45 liter Atrack is PRO XL. fstopgear.com/product/pro-xl-internal-camera-unit-icu/ The official website sells the inserts, but we got ours in Iceland - the website is photostop.is

The backpack is called Ortlieb Atrack 45L - and we use it with XL Fstop gear insert. It is waterproof and surprisingly it is not designed for photographers, but it is the best bag we have used for photography.

Calling that queen of all mountains, means you aren't traveling enough. Yes it looks nice. But queen? Ahh.
@GudmannAndGyda3 ай бұрын
Being the queen of all mountains has nothing to do with size. This mountain has a special place in the hearts of us Icelanders. From Wikipedia: "This distinctive mountain has been known by its present name since at least 1300. Due to the mountain's steep and unstable sides, the first definite ascent was in 1908 by Hans Reck and Sigurður Sumarliðason, despite centuries of knowledge of its existence. The mountain is often referred to as "The Queen of Icelandic Mountains" by Icelanders due to its beautiful shape. It was voted in 2002 "Iceland’s favourite mountain".
@bamsemh13 ай бұрын
@@GudmannAndGyda I didn't mention sizes. If it means a lot for you in Iceland, then keep it to Iceland. You clearly said queen of ALL mountains.

Fabulous video of you being out and about. Great to see you got some beautiful light. Out of interest what were the other campers there for. Were they photographers or maybe mountain climbers. Is there a track to walk to the top of that mountain or is it off limits. Cheers, Richard
@GudmannAndGyda3 ай бұрын
The other campers are there for various reasons. Some of them came from Askja - the crater where they hike. Two dirt-bikers were there in a tent, they had spent 10 days driving all over Iceland. Some go on hikes, yes it is possible to hike up the mountain. It is a difficult hike and better done with a guide.
