So if you can see it you can take a picture of it, so taking pictures of vehicles and buildings is not breaking the law in which therefore cannot legally be prosecuted for.

I'm hoping to start a new project soon documenting the housing shortage in my region. This project intends to photograph homes. I plan to only photograph locations I can see and photograph from public spaces such as streets and sidewalks. I know that I am within my rights to photograph them, but what happens when I publish them? There will be no people in them, only the home. I will not be associating any location information with them, including removing any street numbers or other identifiable wording/names. Could the property owners have me take the photos down? What if I were to print an artsy photo book with the prints?

A few weeks ago I walked up the street where I live in order to get some shots of a beautiful sunset. A man and woman who were in their front yard started accusing me of taking pictures of them, which I was clearly not. I don't even know them. I tried to explain what I was doing, they would not listed and threatened to call the police. I wish they had, maybe the police could have taught them something.
@TheDeanLawChannel2 ай бұрын
That's the grey line there. But since they were out in public albeit in their front yard, with today's dash cams and neighborhood CCTVs, it would be very hard to invoke violation of privacy

Hello and thank you! Can I have a question please? If I am in a public space and someone starts to either video record me or takes a picture, do I have a right to request that they don't record me or delete the picture or blur my face? I would think that according to GDPR, I should have control over my personal information (my face), so if I don't feel comfortable with a recording of me spreading around the internet, the person who took it should be required to delete it, but there is so many people including at least one channel informing about the law that claim you can take pictures and recordings of people in public spaces, and no-one can ask you to delete them.

This is subjective. Being in public has a limited waiver to privacy. More so now with CCTV cameras everywhere. My best bet is not to make that person the subject of the photo. But to be specific, it is not "illegal" at least in the Philippines

Head shot of a single person on a sidewalk, taken a short distance , within the personal space of someone, eg 3 feet away? Telephoto of the same face? Seems to me the former would be a violation of reasonable expectation of privacy, versus taking a shot of a busy sidewalk or people crowded around a food truck. Less sure about the latter.
