The "picking her teeth" was however - cropped down - a great photo for street photography! I loved it. Love your video tutorials though, Terry, thank you very much for your warm presence.

Great video Terry. You certainly have a gift for teaching. I use a slightly different process for initially sorting imported images. For first pass cull of bad/unusable images I use X (reject), U (unpick) and P (pick) rather than using the arrow key to go back and forth. Using U instead of the arrow key will auto-advance to the next image without having to press the arrow key (assuming auto-advance is selected). The ones I picked (P) are almost certainly going to be used. I'll then delete the rejected photo's, and use the library filter to filter on attribute to show all the unpicked images only. I can then do a second pass to pick between similar images. I can then take a bit of time to go back and forth between images and maybe use the X/Y comparison view to help confirm my choices. I just find this process quicker as it gets all the good/bad images out of the way straight off the bat, and then makes the second pass less cluttered. Once first/second pass are complete you can add/remove flags as required depending on your workflow.

Hi, Terry. A question, please, on importing, when copying to the drive first, at about 13:45: I understand everything you said (very clear), and I remember your preference to put the photos into .dng format, but when copying to the drive first, and then importing, there doesn't seem to be a way to import into .dng format by "adding." It seems to me you can only "copy as dng," which then gives you a second copy, with no option to delete the original proprietary raw image when importing. I also know how to convert all imported images into .dng format after "adding" them in the original proprietary raw format, but this seems to be a round-about way of getting to .dng format and getting rid of the original proprietary raw files. Or am I missing something? If I'm not missing something, may I request that you recommend to Adobe that they have an option to convert to dng and delete originals (or not) when import via the "add" method. P.S. Totally don't understand why only two other people have watched this video.

Thank you for this tutorial as I am more organized now! Is it ok just to use LR Cloud for all my photos? I feel I can do whatever LR classic does just as well on the LR cloud.

Hello Terry. Your example for importing photos into from a memory card described a situation where you added a new folder in your operating system and then importing those photos into Lightroom. How would you do this if you wanted photos in the memory card to be filed into already existing folders. Example - some of the Pictures were of Friends and you want those pictures in your Friends folder, but other pictures were landscapes and you wanted these ones in your Landscape folder

A question about LRC I'm doing collections after watching a Terry tutorial. However, he doesnt' share how to make a subfolder in a collection. I was able to do one in the "smart collection" (not sure how I did that) but can't do it in the regular collection if I add one by clicking the +. Also I seem to now have two? lightroom folders and so two collections. how did that happen adn how do I fix it? IS this taking up space on my hard drive?

Dear Terry, i was earlier using Photoshop but now I shifted to Lrc. Following your tutorials I was trying to make my shots appear on the Lrc framework. I followed your lead but was faced with two problems and i am i hopping if you could assist with an advise. a) My shots are organized by both name (Location) and date on my Mac with subfolders under each trip. The subfolders include the final edited version of my shots in a file named OK. Upon adding my shots into Lrc i found out that not all the subfolders were carried into Lrc. b) Perhaps this was not the correct solution, but i removed my shots from the Lrc framework and repeated the process several times, following the import approach either from the Mac system or from the Lrc steps. I got shaded, non-activated shots, and duplicated shots for each time i tired although i did activate the ADD option. I would appreciate your advise on how to sort this issue. I am sure its all within the Preferences of Lrc. If you prefer to communicate via email please let me know. I am on stand still situation with Lrc, although it looks great in organizing my shots, exactly what i needed. Thank you Amr Kadry

For the love of God why cant/won't you just merge both Lightroom apps? Add the detailed development options into CC or load the cloud connectivity to Classic and just fucking merge them. No one loses any functionality, everyone gets what they want. What benefits are there in keeping them separate considering there are so many mutually exclusive options between the 2. It is so damn infuriating to know there are things I can only do in 1 VS the other.
