Extra Tip : While working with 8bit images you can keep the same settings as mentioned above in the video. But if you are working with 16bit image there are some changes need to be made, LAYER:COLOR (if you have renamed the color layer), BLENDING MODE (ADD), SCALE to 2 AND OFFSET to 0. and make sure the Invert box is checked.

Great tutorial. Easy, fast, and simple. I'm using it right now and is looking amazing in my photos. My only con with this is that you lost the freckles on her nose and cheeks. Is there any way to restore some texture or parts of the skin that (in my understanding) must be there? for example moles, scars, or freckles. Great video! Thanks!

Put that light a bit down the camera and or to the left if the wall permits, to get some contrast/shadows on your left - cam right. Fill from the right as needed. But a bit of shadow will really make the image more dimensional. Cheers.

Hi, feaver, thanks for your video. I would like to say that the settings used for the frequency separation is for 8 bit images For 16 bit, you check the box and set the blending mode to add.

Nice video and walkthrough. The skin of your image became a bit to smoothy for my liking though, which could have been avoided by reducing the flow or change the opacity on the layer afterwards. But great walkthrough.

I must have done something wrong because the Mixer brush washed out the skin tone & any definition in the model face.
