Truthfully, no, that was not the intention The original text was before Konami introduced Standardised PSCT, the original text says weird words like “…on your side of the field to activate this card” which nowadays would just be replaced with a “;”, since modern rules state that monsters can only be tributed from your side of the field unless stated otherwise, and the Semi Colon represents a cost Granted here there is no semi colon, I assume this card was also an older errata of the card before the modern standardised PSCT

@@Humandefect Other than having to reprint the affected Card, I'm curious, what exactly makes it a Pain? Like, I'm not even joking, I really would like to know. That said, only doing it to actively change how Cards work just sounds stupid to me when again, it lets you avoid having situations like this to begin with. Then again, it's probably because as I also just said, I have no idea how much effort that even is, so I guess I'm not exactly in a Position to judge that.

@@agitpolat1061 pain in this context is having 2 different versions of a card one wrong and one right. Releasing new prints kinda makes the old ones obsolete with how the text works and sometimes could cause confusion so card games try to avoid erratas as much as possible. Banned cards that people may want to play but is too op, very confusing card text not just a typo, adding new text because of new mechanics etc etc. This card doesn't need an errata bcs you easily know it meant cyber dragon. Other cards need an errata bcs it actually changes how the card works are understood to work after the errata. Its just priority and typos are relatively extremely low priority for erratas.

Did you know cyber barrier dragon is one of the only level 6 cyber dragon? So you have to jump through a lot of hoops to summon infinity using only cyber dragons without using nova.

Not really. The likely-intended Summoning method for Infinity is to overlay it over Cyber Dragon Nova. It requires two Level 5 Machine Monsters, and Cyber Dragon Drei makes all Cyber Dragon Monsters level 5 on Summon. Not that hard when you look at it that way.

What's funnier is that Vehicroids actually have an easier time getting level 6 light machine monsters on the field for Infinity because they have UFORoid. Also, Vehicroids work surprisingly well with Cyber Dragons, since Cyber Dragons can bring out Pair Cycroid more easily and Nova can float into a Vehicroid fusion monster.

My preferred one of these is probably Warrior of Atlantis who, if it weren't for common sense rulings, would have no legal search target since "A Legendary Ocean" is always treated as "Umi", meaning that in the context of card effects, "A Legendary Ocean" does not exist (you can't declare it with Prohibition, for example)

In case you're curious, there is no issue with the wording of the card in the OCG and it's in part because the way Japanese is structured. In English it's just kinda weird because "Tribute 2 'Cyber Dragon'" would sound awkward, and saying "2 'Cyber Dragon' monsters" would change the effect. If it were a relevant card that you might want to reword with proper PSCT it would be something along the lines of Rage With Eyes of Blue (that says, "3 copies of 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon''".)

I mean in most Germanic, Celtic, and Romance languages you just put an "s" to the end of a word to make it plural (which is odd in French since s at the end of a word is silent effectively making plural and singular the same), other languages have their own plural versions, and Japanese just don't do plural the way Germanic languages like English do. If you think about it, it's kind of not needed. For example "Destroy 1 Dragon type monster" or "Destroy 3 Dragon type monsters" and in English you'll notice that while "monsters" have an s to make it plural... the number in the sentence already specified it was 3 of them. So having plural nouns is kind of redudnant.

@@alex_zetsu The specific phrasing is that when the OCG writes "「サイバー・ドラゴン」2枚を生け" it is more explicit. The main issue with trying to replicate the line directly is with the grammar of PSCT. If the TCG said "Tribute 2 "Cyber Dragon" monsters" that would change the effect to be "tribute 2 of any monster with the text 'Cyber Dragon' in its name, rather than 2 of the specifically named monster 'Cyber Dragon'." Photon Generator Unit is an odd card in that it specifically refers to plural copies of a specifically named monster, which is a very uncommon thing to run across so when making the PSCT updates I think that the localization team figured "Cyber Dragons" was clear enough but with the assumption someone at some point tried to get cute with them decided later on to use "copies of."

Valley is good where it's at Three abilities that all give to hand Negate attack on monster effect Banishes your other monster, or pitch one to recycle one (Feather of the Phoenix, essentially) You can even machine dupe or search it

Laser and Barrier are kind of bricks because their support cards can't be searched They however can be with Cyber Emergency Zwei is just.. bad. Only buffs when swings, and is only a CyDra on field if you reveal a spell. During YOUR turn. (Which lacks synergy with some of their trap cards like hidden tech, overflow - and not to mention laser and barrier's cards since they are QP & Trap)

HERO Cards actually were renamed into all-caps *specifically* to make them work that way. They used to be spelled with normal capitalization, and only changed later *because* there's so many more unrelated Cards with "Hero" in their name.

nobody would ever know (or care) but this is one of my favourite cards of all time. I’ll do anything to include 1 generator unit + 1 laser dragon in my cyber dragon decks, even if they suck. Always hoping for a retrain that makes cyber laser/barrier dragon as extra deck monsters but i guess that’s unlikely.

This us the same technicality as the Atlantian warrior card, that states I had a legendary ocean to your hand from your deck , but the card legendary ocean is always considered “Umi” in your hand deck or graveyard , meaning that the name “ all legendary ocean” technically doesn’t exist and technically cannot be searched for

I made a new version of this card and Cyber Laser and Cyber Barrier So Cyber Laser new version is called Cyber Assault Dragon ,3000 atk -0 deff ,Effect Quick effect Send a monster to the grave .Ur opponent can't use effects in response. Checking the wiki, you're right. The fourth errata of Burst Stream of Destruction says "Blue-Eyes White Dragons". They did fixed it in the next errata.

Given how prevalent Cyber Dragon was back in the day and the effect of CLD, I could totally see it being a good card, especially since PGU is a quickplay spell! Basically they errata the card so it can look good in front of the grammar police and forgot that ( ) exists which they then later on did use on the another errata for Cyber Dragon as shown in the beginning of the video, and then said screw the rules in favor of the second errata of Photon Generator Unit. But all seriousness, the reason why this card won't get third errata because it was pretty bad to begin with and no one was using it.
