@CyanSkies4 жыл бұрын
I just downloaded this software yesterday and started to play with it and quickly discovered that if you wanted to save your work (different than exporting it to Jpeg, PNG, etc), you can't with the free version. You have to pay for the pro version. That was really disappointing to me!
@phlotographer3 жыл бұрын
when you have the image edited, look at the bottom of the window and see the three dots. Click and save as project or use Alt + Shift + S. Rename if you want but save the project in the same location or select another. After that save, then Ctrl + Shift + S will allow for a .jpg to be saved. If you want to save in a different format or make other changes, use the Save as function located in the same area. I don't recall if the pro version is required but I did not think so as I used the free for awhile and think I saved as mentioned above. I normally just do the first two and sometime simply go to .jpg -- did this for some textures I saved (now if only they could be added to those created by the program and that I have not found how to do if it is possible)

I don't recall all the difference but there are some although I am not fond of their clone tool. However, $40 US could be spent worse and I am sure that the developer might add more features if there was enough monetary incentive. I think about Patreons that seem willing to spend $1 per month or more to some folks garnering large incomes from YT. Thus I do use Pro. I like the program but do wish it had the Histogram and also History. The ability to use Layers for some filters would be nice but overall it has good features. Masking at times allows effects to be evident outside the masked area.

@PrettyWebzMedia4 жыл бұрын
Hi there, I don't know how to save presets. I've contacted PhotoScape to get clarity on this from them and I'll update here or make a video when they get back to me. You can create an action (macro) by making all of the adjustments you want to include in the preset and click "Macros" then "save macro" this is next to the "Favorites" button right above the settings. You can replay the macro for any image. I'm sorry I don't have a better answer right now.
@phlotographer3 жыл бұрын
@@PrettyWebzMedia the biggest problem here is that when one begins an edit, one may not know it could be or needs to be used again which is where History would be nice to have. I have a few images that simply by playing I got an image I like (others might not but that is OK) but can't remember the steps I took and changed etc so a Macro would have had to be made when I was not even sure I was going to get something I really liked. A preset would be nice as it can be done at the end. O/W one would have to create a Macro for every image edit done and that just is not practical for most people depending upon HDD size available.

another little request -- related to Borders and Frames. I like the use of both which I have full use of with PSX Pro (I think latest update is 4.1.1 which I have but no indication of another update but if there is one a link would be good. Anyway, I have used both borders (multiple) and frames but unfortunately, have now found a way to add a border and even double up the liners and then add a frame to the result. Have tried both using "merge" and "apply" but unfortunately, when adding the frame the border(s) disappear. I would be delighted to learn how to add single or multiple borders and then follow that with a frame. Of course these would be selected from the PSX Pro program. I wish that the program also allowed for the importing of .8bf files as I have frames and borders of that file type saved and have used them with another program but see no way to accomplish the task with PSX Pro. All assistance is welcome. TIA

You can add an inner and outer glow to objects in the editor. Go to the insert menu for this, this is how I create glowing effects in Photoshop. As far as adding these effects to something that's already in the image, I'm not sure. You can try adding a shape in front of the image and reducing the opacity to zero then add an outer glow. This might give the illusion that it's glowing.

@@PrettyWebzMedia three cheers!!! for us with not great eyesight (old goat here) I too hate the dang click tutorials but my hearing is good. I too like the creators to Slowwwwww down. It is not a race. i have been trying to do something quick and easy with the Frames option but while I have found almost what I need, not quite. I have used the Borders to get the size of the inner most matte and using Merge can then add additional mattes to get to the final arrangement. I also have found a frame (I am still using free for now) that gives a white inner + a black secondary and then an adjustable background. Would be nice to be able to change the white inner to a smaller size and then change the secondary color but all that can be done is to change the outer background color whereas it would be nice to change its size. I find that with the border method and then even adding a frame, it has to use the merge command and not apply. If only using apply is done then the original white matte applied as a border disappears. Wish too that there was a tutorial on working with layers in PSX that had voice. What I would like to be able to do is to see something slowed down and with voice or at least one that use the arrows and maybe text to explain the steps and not try to do it in under 2 minutes. I do composites and take a photo with space around it on a background and then add different images of the same object and want to add the image by removing some or almost all of the background of the second image to allow it to blend nicely with the original image background and continue this process depending upon how many images I wish to end up with on the final image. I have used other programs such a MS digital image Pro 2006, Affinity Photo and would like to see the correct technique for PSX. Oh, I did try using the layers technique but when trying to erase the area around the added image, I found that the erase did not allow the background to show through but rather simply created a black stroke on the background. Not quite what was needed. Probably something simple but not so far easy to find the answer. Going to try to go through your other tutorials also. TIA

Plus if you use the Magnifying Glass to zoom in, double clicking the Magnifying Glass wont unzoom like in Photoshop. Photoscape is a free software with an upgrade option that is not necessary to get a good understanding of its functionality. This program is more like Lightroom than Photoshop. I find it extremely easy to select files, zoom into images, etc. I would suggest installing the free version to try it, it’s exactly what you get with the premium version with less filters and a few other bells and whistles. Check the video description for the link to their website.

PrettyWebz Media thanks. I’ve never used Lightroom but I work a lot with Layers when i was in Photoshop. Does Photoscape do Layers?

@@KainsTorment I am looking for that option too. I had it up at one time but not sure how to find it now although I think in one of the comments which I am reading before viewing the video as I have been view stuff all day long and needed a rest PWM did mention something about layers. Actually, AP is a very full blown editor with many creators of tutorials on YT. Deselect of the marching ants is Ctrl + D. I just opened my AP and in the menu bar under select the option is there and it is like most selection options on the Keyboard -- Ctrl + A. OK for moving of one item to another, this is done with the Place feature. Menu bar>File>Place and then resize to taste. To zoom the easiest is to use Ctrl + the wheel portion of the mouse. If you want a specific magnification, use CTRL + the # on the keyboard so 2 = 200% etc and to come back to full size use CTRL + zero. AP is like any program, it just takes time but there is lots of info and even a .pdf file available for d/l from either the help tab or their forums. Been a long time since I downloaded it. HTH

@@phlotographer thanks and yeah I tried Place too but it never resized properly. Affinity Photo was too infuriating to use as its not user friendly at all... I'm gonna buy Photoshop CC in the sales :)

It would be a little easier to follow if it was in the light mode. Very had to read the tool names

Thanks for the feedback. I'll definitely consider this if I do another Photoscape tutorial. The dark color is more energy efficient for my monitor and easier on my eyes but I can see the lighter color showing up better on video.
