Hold the ctrl key (or command if you're on a mac) and press J to duplicate the layer

And one more thing. When im going in the step at 4:53 for the Release Clipping mask the town in square you can barely see it ! The colour is so different from the original!

Hairi Izzudin Anytime! a free alternative to Photoshop would be Gimp and I believe you can do everything I did in this video in Gimp but it might be harder because Gimp isn't as nice to work in as Photoshop is

Christian Jones yeah I've heard a lot of great things about Affinity as a cheaper alternative to Photoshop. I'd imagine that if you're a basic user (like I'm sure most of us are) that affinity has all the tools we'll ever need whereas Photoshop has everything and more

Very good video especially useful for me getting used to things for the first time, one criticism i would give is to always mention the hotkeys for all the commands you use, i like to use them but its kinda confusing to find them out myself :D
