Hey Steve I love this video thanks for sharing with us. I found myself in a burnout mode for the past year. Photography really makes me happy, but I got burned out for whatever reason. Photography has been on my mind alot the past 2 months and I was sitting at my kitchen table thinking who can I watch on KZbin to get me inspired again, and I immediately thought of you. Thank you Steve for sharing the techniques you use in the NIK Color Efex Pro & Silver Efex Pro. For my landscape images, I typically use the same Pro Contrast (or Tonal Contrast) filter in Color Efex Pro and High Structure - Smooth (or High Structure Harsh) for my black and white conversions. However I had never heard of bringing in the Luminosity blending mode as part of the process. I just experimented with your technique on a wildlife image and it really made it pop. Thanks again for the wonderful tips.

Thanks for your lesson on new ways (for me anyway) on using Color Efex Pro and Silver Efex Pro. I've been a fan of both, but never even thought about applying both to an image. Combined with luminosity slider, it really gave my test images a really nice pop! Cheers!

I fell in love with the NIK Collection and I bought it about the same time Google bought it. I got pissed at Google when they abandoned it. I fell in love with DXO when they rescued the software.

Same here. I wish they’d improve the NR plug-in Define, it’s way behind the competition, but Silver EFX and Color EFX are awesome.
