For a while I didn't edit a photo without watching one of your videos. I wish that Adobe would toss a “defocus” feature (like luminar) to facilitate matching sky and image depth of field easier.

Simple fix to go to the sky layer in PS sky replacement group and add a little Gaussian blur. Why do you need Adobe to give you a button to do that. You also have the option then to use lots of other creative blurs like motion blur etc. Luminar hasn’t got a button that will do that for you. 😉

@@johnwootton5629 I figured that out also. I don’t really like Gaussian blur on some scenes - unsure what luminar does exactly - but it’s usually faster and has slightly better results that PS so far (granted I don’t fiddle with PS long before going “ugly” - let’s try luminar)

@@xringassassin you have access to all the blurs like I said including the ones that will give really good long exposure type effects, path blur, motion blur etc. Yeah Luminar is faster with its one slider but I find I can get far better results in Photoshop so rarely use Luminar for sky replacement. I prefer to be able to dive into the layer stack and tweak the sky image and/or the masks rather than rely on Luminar sliders To be fair I was doing Sky Replacements in PS when it involved a bit of effort, long before Luminar came in with its one click method, so probably learned some valuable techniques on that particular learning curve.

super tuto. nice you still compare Luminar AI with photoshop. I don't understand very well the sky presets. I have tons of skies in jpeg. what are these presets ? why did you convert jpeg to sky presets ? Fortunately with the 300 master kit you imported from image and it seems to work but you lost the subfolders, isn't it ? In the past I imported my skies one by one in libraries and filenames were all converted to "background". It seems now possible to import all skies and they keep their name. correct ? But I suppose you advise to import skies inside sky panel insteda of libraries, correct ?
