Does the illusion only work with the colors settings you specified? Would a designer be able to choose another color scheme and still get the same effect?

I think your videos are amongst the best out there but sometimes you do something which just doesn't make sense. Here at around 7:10 you create a layer filled with a pattern, then merge it with the background, (snapshot), and then cut the pattern back out of it....why? The pattern is already on its own layer so wouldn't just rasterising it and deleting the mask easier and quicker? What is the benefit of going through the Snapshot, Colour Range, Invert, Copy routine?

+MrTom Rasterizing the pattern doesn't remove the background; it just makes the pattern adjustment layer into a "composite snapshot. Ultimately, pressing the hot keys to create a comp snapshot is quicker and easier. Actually, the quickest method is to create the pattern shape with no background at all. Doing so, bypasses the need to make a comp snapshot, color range, invert, etc.. This occurred to me after I already did the tut.

+squidskunk The circles are drawn clockwise and counterclockwise. If you cover one of your eyes, the circles no longer "move". Plus, the colors have to have enough contrast.
