I like the way you explain all your moves, Illustrate them well, and can be clearly heard. The tutorial was excellent, so I will subscribe, to see others you have done. So many tutorials on photoshop, show blurry movements, and no vocal at all, so you are light years ahead of the game! Thank you! Master of Flowers

Carla Nicole...It's red because that is the color of your quickmask.(YOu can change the color by double-clicking on the quickmask box). If your foreground color is black, when you click inside an empty area of the quickmask, it will fill it in with the color of your quickmask. If the foreground color is white, when you click on the quickmask, it will delete it.

To remove the background, click off the eyeball next to the background layer. Create a new layer at the top of your Layers panel. Make a "composite snapshot" of your image by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Alt + E on a pC or Cmd + Shift + Opt + E on a Mac. Now, you have your final image without a background on its own layer.

Also, the quickmask is probably 50% opacity. Double-click on the quickmask icon (below the foreground & background boxes). Increase the opacity to 100%.

Hi all goes well except for the 2 steps from 2.45 When I click Q for quick mask, the border goes red, but not a solid red. Then next step when I click the paint bucket tool, again the image background is red but not solid red, so you can still see the background. As a result in my final image you can still see the background. I have checked opacity which is set to 100%. Not sure what I am doing wrong? Thanks

why does my entire picture filled up red when I use the "paint bucket tool" is there something I did wrong

It may be because your foreground and background colors are inverted are there may be a "hole" in the quickmask line before you try to fill it.

i got my foreground and background colors as what i see from your video and the quickmask line is all sealed, no holes. whenever i invert the black and white, i get my whole screen turn red and i invert it the other way around i get nothing

for elements 10: follow tutorial until he says to hit q for quick selection. Instead you should load the frame selection with ctr + click on the frame layer then ctr + shift+ I to invert it, then click the layer below the frame and add a mask. Alt+ click the new layer mask and then use your paintbucket in black to fill the outside of the frame. This should do the same thing. Hope it helps.
