Thanks a lot I have a project to be done and I was looking for a much simplified version for the 3D effect other than the multiple layers that you mentioned earlier in the video. It is indeed very tedious. Thanks so much for your help.
@jimleggett90816 жыл бұрын
This was a great video, except when you got to the actual technique you used to create the shadowing effect, you said it would be boring to see how to do it. Boring or not, your technique makes the font look realistic. I would have preferred to be shown a tedious technique to get an amazing effect, instead of just a file to make the shadow technique for me. What I don't know is: what angles did you use? What Gaussian settings did you use? How many layers does it take to make the effect? You handed me a fish instead of teaching me to fish. I'm not ungrateful for the fish, but the knowledge of how to catch it myself was what I was seeking.
@joshaceves1226 жыл бұрын
If you look in the file apply the shadows to your text you can see each effect layer and its settings.
@warvdine44705 жыл бұрын
@@joshaceves122 I actually used this as my time to practice feeling it out for myself. I have a set color for my font, so I changed the shadow to be the same color but much much darker(almost black). I then added the Gaussian blur(the same blur for each layer) and self-moved each layer into place. It's good to have tutorials like this, but you also want to be able to teach yourself how to catch a fish even if you haven't seen it done before. Might not be perfect the first time, but it gets better with practice '' '

For some reason my holding SHIFT and pressing down and left doesn't allow me to 'nudge' and I am working on a PC, any thoughts on this?
@MadebyMighty7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback! 😊 If you just move your layer by pressing the arrow keys (without holding Shift) does that work? It will move 1px at a time so it won't too obvious but if you press it a few times, does it move? I'll try and figure out why it's not working. Cheers!

Thanks :) You can absolutely use a logo instead of text. Basically, once you double click on the smart object to edit it. Instead of changing the text, just make the text layer invisible or delete it and then drag in your logo from Illustrator or from another Ps document or .png depending what format you have it in. Let me know if you need help, cheers! 😊

hi! I have a question about blending mode settings (or Photoshop in general). for example: I have project A, in blending mode I change a lot of settings for a 3D text (or everything else). I finished the project, I closed Photoshop. I reopened Photoshop to start create project B. Well, all the settings from blending mode it's the same from finished project A.. How can I reset them? I mean when I enter again in Photoshop, settings must be reseted by default. Same problem with all Photoshop settings, not only in blending mode. Thanks, keep up!
@MadebyMighty7 жыл бұрын
Hi, do you mean the blending options in the Layer styles window for example? If so, yes the values used in your previous document will carry over (if you saved the previous document). Actually most settings will carry over now that I think about it. I'm not sure how to reset everything because I never really felt the need to since I usually manually put in new values for each new project but in the Layer Styles window, each blending option (gradient overlay for example) has a "Reset to default" button. I hope this answers your question :) Cheers!
@SorinNyx7 жыл бұрын
thanks for answer! yes, it works with "reset to default" button, but in tool panel, the settings ar the same from the last project. ex: when I choose Brush Tool, the mode is Soft Light (and should be Normal), opacity is 32% (and should be 100%), flow is 65% (and should be 100%). Another example: when I choose rectangular marquee tool, the substract from selection is already selected from the last project (and should be New Selection selected). Another example: when I choose Erase tool, the mode is Block (and should be Brush), the opacity is 54% (and should be 100%) and the Flow is 30% (and shoud be 100%). And so on, all settings ar from the last project... Does exist something like "reset all settings to default when exit the Photoshop"? I'm using CS6 version. Thanks!
@MadebyMighty7 жыл бұрын
Ahh I hear you, to be honest, I don't know if there's any way to reset it all to default. I'll look it up and get back to you :)
