As a recent subscriber, I am so elated that I have found a true guru (that's you) that has enabled me to do more than just flail. I have only a slight knowledge about Smart Objects but I see the great value in using them. Thanks.

I really enjoyed this! I started a new job recently and found that I'd be using PS a lot more than I had in the recent past. My last job was 90% ID so I'd forgotten a lot of the advanced PS stuff. WELP....I never fully learned and understood smart objects. The projects I'm working on at work have a lot of them and when I can't visualize how something works it COMPLETELY confuses me and then I start to doubt myself as a designer. Breaking down the lesson to a friggin potato and a bag REALLY made me "SEE IT!" Sometimes you just gotta "dumb things down" and break it down so it doesn't seem so overwhelming to help someone get out of their head. Thanks for that! :) I'll save this lesson for sure and check out all of your other ones. Followed and subscribed! THANKS AGAIN!

A potato! Great analogy! Even though I am familiar with Smart Objects, already, you gave a great explanation! I tend to use SO's quite a bit in my digital art. I can tweek a character, for instance, then, change it to a SO, then, go about my work. It lowers the size of the document, though, people have argued that they make a file larger. For me, each component of my piece is its own SO, more or less! Thanks for a cool video!

Nice tutorial with an excellent analogy using the potatoes and plastic bags and clear explanations using the butterfly images as examples. I use Photoshop to edit my photos - I took up photography as a retirement hobby and once in a while people pay me to photograph their events.
