Excellent work, Last week I did a matte painting of a desert scene. It was a sea of sand dunes with a massive pillar like mountain in the distance. I'm an Illustrator and I do experimental art out of my own studio. However I am a bit of a traditionalist using digital techniques and traditional techniques. Like I used photographs of the desert and sky and then I actually painted a mountain from my acrylic paints and then photographed it and brought it into the program. As much as I want to get Photoshop I have been working in Corel Painter which I think is pretty much the same program with differences of course. Like I said i'm just starting out with matte painting and I have to say it's absolutely amazing what you can achieve. Been an artist for well over 20 years and have a good traditional foundations from Bill Alexander and Bob Ross and many more accomplished artist. Spending a whole day on a project is what I do. It's definitely tricky trying to do it with a mouse I so need a Wacom Tablet but hey great work. I do have a question or 2 what do I set my document size to when I open up a new document and what is the ideal resolution? Up until now I have been working with 11x 8.5 with 300 resolution or 17x11 with 300 resolution. Do I need to go much bigger? Thank you
