I’m 78 and I’ve had this problem for a short while. I’m still unsure which direction to take for treatment and pain management. It started out as severe testicular pain. My urologist tried a cord block injection but that didn’t help. What you said about long term constipation is definitely involved as well as radiation treatments for prostate cancer. I also had a couple of falls to add into the mix. You have helped me understand what’s really going on. Thank you for explaining this so clearly and concisely. ❤

Have you heard of pudendal neuralgia that can lead to burning in the feet? referred pain type of syndrome?
@PelvicHealth2 жыл бұрын
Yes! If you look at the brain and map out where it feels each body part (known as the homunculus), the genitals and the feet are right next to each other. Sometimes the brain gets confused as to where the signal is coming from, so a message from the genitals creates a pain sensation in the feet. This is known as "smudging", and it means that you can feel foot pain because of something happening in your pelvis even if there is nothing wrong with your foot.

Very informative and helpful content from you, as always. Thank you so much for educating us on this issue. I'd really appreciate it if you could make a video on rectal/perineum pain due to CPPS for men. Also, do you guys do online consultantions for international patients?

I have an appointment with your clinic in 2 weeks. I’ve suffered with this for years. I’m also scheduled for a pudendal nerve block and ganglion impar block. My dr just put me on LDN too. I’m scared. I spend 90% of my last 2-3 years in the bed and had to find a work from home job. It burns when I pee. Hurts to have a BM. So much pressure. Can only where loose pants, no jeans, no heels… life sucks. Can’t travel. I just want relief…. Exercise makes me swell. Even just walking. I feel neuropathy. I hope u guys can help

Thank you for your excellent efforts.. I have a question please. I suffer from pelvic floor pain and I follow up with a physiotherapist and I also suffer from vitamin D deficiency. When I took vitamin D, I felt a great improvement in my pelvic muscles.. My question is is there a relationship between vitamin D and pelvic muscles

Helli madam, does pudendal nerve has regenerative capacity? Thank you madam.
@PelvicHealth Жыл бұрын
The evidence suggests that it does. Certain medications like gabapentin have been known to help nerve healing, but there are many factors involved in the healing process which vary patient to patient. One of the aims of PT in a pudendal nerve injury is to create an optimal environment to help the nerves heal. In some cases, medications or surgery can be indicated. Any patient who has pudendal nerve pain should establish a good team of specialists including GYN, PT, and pain management to help them through their healing process.

My pudendal neuralgia started with bladder issues (frequency and urgency, urinating at night, pain after 30 secs after urination) caused by medication. I’ve never seen this cause mentioned on Internet. Have you heard about such cases?

I'm sorry, I'm not aware of a medication that can cause pudendal neuralgia.

What medication do you think might have caused yours? At first I thought maybe antibiotics and all the things the doctors had me on caused mine, but now I believe it was caused by a very tight pelvic floor (which was caused by severe coughing spasms for almost two months).
