Great video! It is really good because you don't assume that people don't know too much already about all of the water chemistry. You give enough basics in here that people know what is happening but don't spend so much time on any basics that people that already know a lot would get bored. This seems really helpful and just makes PHREEQC seem more accessible in general. Thanks!

Thank you, very useful video. I have a question. In principle, I did the same thing but added reactants (batch reaction) and the results that appeared in the species distribution were moles V cm/moles which had a negative number. is this a numerical error or is there another meaning to this negative value? Thank You

Hi, thanks for the tutorial but i have a question, where can i get the database of the solution master species?
@jezdez13 жыл бұрын
Hi. There are databases that come with PHREEQC. You can add to them which is what i do. There may be more recent solubility / speciation constants so you can add these or change them.

Hi Jezdez1, thanks much for the video. There are two things I would like to ask: 1) how to get the Minteq database file and where to replace the original version with your modified version? 2) How come your PHREEQC interactive version has so many elements/species in the Individual element input, because my version only has limited elements or species? is your a paid version? Thanks. I hope to get your reply :)
@jezdez12 жыл бұрын
Hi. Thanks for your message. The Phreeqc software is free. I sometimes add data to it especially if new constants appear in a paper or database. The data base I use is based on minteq
@trinh1234562 жыл бұрын
Hi Jezdez :) Thanks so much for your reply. I thought my question is never answered since I do not see you active recently. Do you mean after adding new constant, the program will enable the selection of the new added species? For example, if K+ is greyed out, it will be “selectable/clickable” in the PHREEQC windows after you add the relevant equation and constant that relates to K+? Please show where the path to the minteq database in the computer. Thanks Jezdez!

@@trinh123456 not quite sure what you mean. Can you explain a different way. I'll look at your reply tomorrow as it's nearly midnight in the UK
@trinh1234562 жыл бұрын
Hi Jezdez, Sure no problem. What I meant is in the “individual element input” tab in the “Solution” window that Pops up after double click on the “Solution 1”, there is a very limited number of available cations and anions for me to select, and most of them are greyed out. I dont know why your list is much more than my list :) Thanks and have a good night, Jezdez!
