At PrudentLifeedu, we encourage kids of adolescent age to research topics that impact lives and health on a larger scale. This will not only improve the lives of the viewers but will help them learn and improve their own lives as well. This video is presented by Diya Patel, a high school student.
We humbly request our viewers to consider contributing to this effort. The contributions will go to kids towards making many such video presentations on a variety of lifestyle topics and part will go to charity. Please click this link paypal.me/prud... to contribute. The Phthalates are the additives for plastics. Make their processing easy and finishing attractive. But then what are the after- effects? Covered ill effects wonderfully well by Diya Patel. Is it possible to avoid them for the hazards they carry? Practically impossible unless we return back to our primitive life styles of the age of the sage. Our life is fully loaded with hazards, deadly diseases, stress and stupidity in the blind run for the better and comfortable life style.

Very impressive!... for an adult and much more so for a 14 year old. I feel like I learned something and that the information will help me, and I am glad to have watched your video. Your communication skills are good; you enunciate well; your inflection, pauses, tone, attitude, etc...communicate care, concern, and the desire to help others . I'm going to forward it to my kids because they eat fast food and a recent study shows plasticizers/ phalates in almost everything they tested. So, keep up the good work. If you investigate the clot shot as you have phalates, you will find even more troubling information that I believe will lead you to avoid it all costs. The studies on animals have had disasterous effects, and doctors of all types from all over the world have been trying to warn any who will listen, but they are being censored. Why? Ask questions... seek answers. Follow the money. Do the sources of information have a financial interest involved? Do the sources have a history of corruption and deceit? If a court of law could find the information source to be untrustworthy, then why do we blindly trust them without verifying what they say? Fear... fear is the reason why people don't reason well about these issues. Perfect love casts out fear... love is the answer

Do you do these videos alone? They are incredible! I have a question regarding Phthalates, how do you figure out whether or not a Product has phthalates in it? For example sous-vide bags?
@prudentlifeedu3693
@prudentlifeedu3693 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, all of the students making these videos have made them with entirely their own independent research. One simple way to figure out if a product has phthalates in it is by finding the recycling symbol (usually, plastics have a recycling symbol imprinted somewhere on the bottom of the product). If that recycling symbol has a #3 in it, that means that the product most likely has phthalates. Another way is to simply be more aware. Phthalates are plasticizers, meaning that they are designed to make plastic more durable and flexible. If you want specific plastic types to avoid make sure you're avoiding strong/flexible plastics, but what would be most helpful is to simply avoid all plastic to the best of your ability.

thanks for this. are they in silicone designed for cooking?
@prudentlifeedu3693

While a criterion for food-grade silicone is that it must be free from phthalates, phthalates can still be found in silicone used for medical tubing.

Is there something like a measureable phthalates RDA maybe testable through urine or something like that?
@prudentlifeedu3693
@prudentlifeedu3693 2 жыл бұрын
There is no recommended daily allowance for phthalates (no amount is recommended for you) but there is a measure called a tolerable daily intake (TDI). For phthalates, the TDI is 500μg/kg.

Hello do you think that Diethyl phthalate is safe?
@prudentlifeedu3693
@prudentlifeedu3693 2 жыл бұрын
Diethyl phthalates are not safe. Short term effects of excessive exposure include skin irritation, eye irritation, coughing/wheezing, headaches, dizziness, and nausea. A long term effect is permanent damage to the nervous system, causing weakness, pins and needles, and weakness to the hands and feet. Diethyl Phthalates are used in plastics, insecticides, cosmetics, aspirin, toothbrushes, car parts, toys, tools, and food packaging.

Is this the same as pfas chemicals?
@prudentlifeedu3693
@prudentlifeedu3693 2 жыл бұрын
No, phthalates are not the same as PFAS. Phthalates are a class of chemicals designed to improve the flexibility and durability of plastic. PFAS are nonstick, stain-repellent and waterproof compounds (Teflon is one of them) designed to make products waterproof. Both are extremely harmful to both humans and the environment.

Why meats
@prudentlifeedu3693
@prudentlifeedu3693 3 жыл бұрын
Phthalates are found in more significant numbers in meats because of two primary reasons: 1.) Phthalates enter food through packaging and handling food with products such as cellophane, plastic, etc. Meats tend to be heavily processed, so they are more susceptible to phthalate exposure than other foods that go through less handling. 2.) Phthalates are actually drawn to lipids (AKA fats) meaning that the more fat that a food contains, the more phthalates they attract. Meats have a high fat content, making them much more likely to absorb phthalates than other low-fat foods such as fruits or vegetables.
