I'll be honest, I came here expecting to just see another SoT player spreading the mentality and methods of being a jerk to others in the game, based on the video's title. I can't tell you how relieved and happy I was to see that you were in fact showing others how to defend against such things. Glad to see there are other pirates on the seas that keep to the code of sportsmanship! Stay wholesome, I love it!

@@StealthyZombie No doubt about it! I know its a pirate game and killing people who like to grief other people is fantastic! I've had my share of being am attacker but I at least will raise the reaper flag to let the players know out intentions. So glad they put that in the update! Keep on making your videos sir, they're gold to players who need to learn the ropes and avoided trolly players like the ones you dominated. Good video sir! Play another game if you don’t like pvp. They have added a trading company which sells ship flags of the ships that you sunk. It isn’t trolling, it’s a part of the game.
@aimlesscritter2224 жыл бұрын
@@idontlikewind.554 Not to be rude, but you didn't actually read our comments, did you... Yes, PvP is part of the game, in fact a necessary one at that. I'm certainly not disputing that fact, and clearly haven't said anything to suggest that it shouldn't be. What I refer to are players that, despite being in a situation where there is positively zero benefit to sinking a crew other than having sunk them. When there is no treasure to be gained or flag to be stolen, and a player insists on targeting you repeatedly knowing you have nothing, that is trolling. PvP should still be something based off of a code of conduct and sportsmanship. But if your idea of PvP is "spawn-kill a crew on their ship even though they have no treasure", then you are in fact a troll. Sorry if it seemed that ALL PvP was being called trolling, because that is definitely not the case and not anywhere close to what I was saying :)
@idontlikewind.5544 жыл бұрын
AimlessCritter What? Sinking ships is probably one of the most enjoyable things about the game. How the hell are you supposed to know what treasure they have, how do you know that they are going to attack you later on, when you see a ship you have all the right to sink it, it’s a pirate game, it’s not a sailor game where your holding hands with other people who don’t have loot.

A lot of the time it’s about confidence . If someone is chasing us I usually stand and fight. Raise sails fast , turn for a broadside and begin to fire as they get close . The only chance they have to deal more damage is if they have a gunpowder , so I usually drop sails as they get closer . If we can land a few front deck shots (as well as a grogball perhaps) there’s a much higher chance of victory . Don’t run , stand your ground and you’ll be surprised at how bad most players are .

I find you can do pretty well solo slooping as long as you play defensively, I’ve completed forts before with another sloop constantly trying to attack me while barely taking any damage. as long as you keep a few fire bombs on you and engage them before they reach the island, you can usually surprise them and take down their ship.

i find these types of videos teach more about how to get better more so then any 3 tips 5 tips etc type videos. Being told what to implement only helps us know what to do. This shows us how to do, how to combine, and how to think outside those 3-5, etc "tips/rules". I've only logged roughly 35 hours in the game having it only for like 2 weeks so far. I have to say so far I haven't had much pvp, but i look at each encounter as a new chance to get better. My 2 cents for those that struggle in this game. Play smart and always assume someone is coming for you at all times. It helps you play smarter. Figure out what kind of server your on before loading your ship with loot. Try to make shorter runs and bank single quests at a time. Or my personal favorite is shipwrecking. Usually get at least 1 skull, 1 chest, and 1 crate, even up to ashen level meaning you can bank out okay income, with some rep for each major faction in quick runs. sorry this is long, but hope it helps and good luck on the seas.

nice vid, i just wanna point out a couple of things, forgive my bad english: 1)while boarding equip your range weapon, if you are on a ladder you can get off of it shoot and get back on, this usually throw people off and if you have a blunder and you are lucky you can 1 shot them, if you have the sword equipped doing a sword hop to the left lessens the chanses of dying 2)when you successfully got on the ship, you dont want to always aim straight for the anchor, the prime objective is surviving to secure the anchor itself, its better if you get some room to breathe first if they all noticed you 3)DO NOT go below deck in a sloop when you are running away from someone, expecially if that someone has a blunder, the deck of the ship is big enough and has enough protection to avoid dying, if you learn how to jump over cannons then you are not an easy target at all 4)NEVER stand still while fighting or trying to drop the anchor 5) please dont use pineapples when you are at 70% HP

@NazzyDragon5 жыл бұрын
Would recommend not carrying a keg on your ship if you're being chased. Fire for one blows those INSTANTLY.. and a player with flintlock/EoR can easily snipe your crow's! It's rough, lol. ...Shame, because I LOVE using kegs.

Gotta love when kids don't know when to quit lol. I once was playing solo on a sloop and spotted a brigantine and wanted to test my ship skills to see if I could sink a brig solo on a sloop. I launched a few shots at them as they were at snake island and they hit me a few times so I had to sail away and repair. I wrapped back around and put a few more shots on them and then the chase was on. They chased me to the Glorious Sea Dog outpost in center map, but stopped there(I assume to get supplies) and I sailed off to daggertooth. From daggertooth I was still able to see the silhouette of their brig. They sat there for quite a while but eventually sailed back toward snake island where I had first engaged them. They ended up at cannon cove or some similar island, as I sailed back I noticed them sitting there, but I also caught a glimpse of a mermaid statue on the next little island over, so I parked my sloop over there and gathered the gem while I waited on the brigantine to realize it was me and engage me. It all went according to plan, I saw them drop sails and head over to me, so I dropped sail and led them on a chase. I tried to board them around plunder island, knowing as a solo sloop player I have a low chance of keeping my ship in this encounter anyway. I boarded them and caused a little chaos before getting booped off, so I went back to my ship to prepare for the coming cannon fight. They pulled up on my port side and their two cannons were doing considerable damage but I managed to lay a few into them as well. By this point they were so focused on sinking me I don't think they were paying attention to repairs on their ship, they probably thought "this one guy on a sloop is easy we got this" and neglected their repairs because instead they harpooned me and got me in range to board me, but I stayed on my cannon because I was still at just the right angle to get one last shot in before I had to fight this last pvp battle. Well as fate would have it right as I fired, one of their crew members was walking up with a gun powder keg right as I fired my last cannon shot, and the cannonball connected with the keg and detonated, and that was the final nail in the coffin for their brigantine. The fight was far from over for me though, as I had to run down and do repairs and simultaneously a freaking kraken comes out of nowhere and attacks my sloop. I carefully navigate my ship to escape, and focus on repairs as I have no resources to take on a kraken, let alone solo on a sloop. Mid way through this kraken encounter I hear what sounds like someone swimming nearby. I realize that this must be a survivor from the brigantine chase, so I ran up to my ladder and sure enough one of the brig guys comes up and wasn't expecting me, I made quick work of him and that was the last of that brigantine crew. I kept maintaining damage from the kraken and managed to escape it. I didn't see where the brigantine had sunk, and I'm not sure they had any loot anyway because neither their ship or any loot was anywhere near me and they were barely outside of where I was when I got attacked by the kraken. So that's my solo adventure against a 3 man brigantine where I managed to sink them and escape a kraken, entirely by pure luck lol. Also if anyone is interested here are some other solo feats: Sunk multiple sloops as a solo player on a sloop Killed at least 3 megalodons as a solo player plus another 1 megalodon as a duo where I did the majority of the damage as my counterpart was doing repairs. Also survived a kraken attack in the devil's roar while a volcano was exploding nearby on a 3 man brig once, that was crazy lol. Tell me about your amazing feats and adventures too

Some 4 man crew sunk our ship and took our treasure, so we had to sail around in our rowboat. As our boat was sinking we grabbed 3 of our explosive barrels and chased them around in a rowboat for an hour and twenty minutes blasting loud Arabic chanting over the megaphone. They eventually thought they lost us apparently, but they sorely underestimated our stupidity because they docked at an island to dig for treasure. We then proceeded to sail our little row boat up to their ship, raise the rowboat up the back of their ship, and the three kegs were enough to render their boat unsalvageable, especially after we threw 10 firebombs on it. We then proceeded to take their treasure and throw it onto our rowboat and disengage from the ship before it keeled, then killed them all while making gorilla noises and playing extremely loud sirens over the voice chat.

So I'd say personally I can hold my own pretty well in hand to hand combat, whenever I'm in a proper fight with an opponent I usually come out on top, yet this video made me realise why so many of my battles have been lost. Its showed me that just being pretty good at fighting isn't enough to defeat opponents, you need strategy. The amount of thought you put into each move is much greater than I do, and I can see how it plays in your favour. I usually just attempt to board and get their anchor down, but often find myself repeatedly killing them as they chain respawn until I inevitably get hit by a lucky blunderbuss. Hopefully this advice will help me make smarter plays in future

I once was solo on a sloop and another sloop unacnchored my ship and started attacking i., after a longish chase of me maneuvering and them sturggling to follow, i got skellied. but i was able to turn and get them to bump my skelly ship and it sunk them they got sunk by it and i got away scott free.

When Jackie said there were reapers sailing right for you, I believe that still fell under "talking about kids & future plans". No need to exclude it.

this is a pretty tight video. only thing i dont like is how jackie would just sit and watch the ship without helping you more. specifically when you use the harpoon and put holes in their ship, she should be getting in position for cannons

They aren't actually missing their shots when you climb up their ladder, it's hitreg that only works like 10% of the time when you are in the animation of when you reach the top of the ladder

have you heard of slooping scooping? it's a simple process to speed up the process of sinking a sloop. you can float directly behind a sloop and scoop and throw water straight into the ship to speed up the sinking process. best part is you don't even have to move out of the water

This is proof that this game is nothing without getting attacked. All my favorite moments from this game are from dying or sinking.

I great way to juke a enemy is by going left or right keep the wheel in the direction and then drop anchor it will do a 90 degree turn or a 180 degree turn. It can really help you get out of a sticky situation. P.s this is only up for 24 hours so that it does not become to popular of a strategy
