I was solo slooping this weekend and a galleon sunk their ship and unofficially joined my crew, we got an ungodly ammount of loot and they let me sell all of it, getting me to my first million. I'm all for pvp but experiences like that are some of the most memorable in the game for me

This is what the sirens call quest will be. Server wide treasure event. Popup plunder will be reserved for community day and special events.

Sirens call is just pop up plunder but you know what you’re getting. Community day should have pop up plunder because there will be rarer loot available.

During this event I had some of the most fun encounters in a while! Not one popup went by without at least two other ships wanting to fight or chase for it. I imagine this is essentially how the new siren skull voyage/event will work and am so hyped for it! Also does show how the slowing feature will be good because ships definitely just get the loot and run to the nearest outpost with it

Rare has confirmed that the turn in location will be a random island and not an outpost so if your lucky you can just camp at them and kill them as they turn it in lol

Was lucky enough to be on a Gally with some other experienced players during the event and got multiple pop up plunders. Eventually we talked the entire server into alliancing and I was able to get the glitterbeard event done as well!

This is some amazing skill on display throughout. I got a great laugh though out of Phuzzy running aground after the pick up. It's a small comfort to see stuff like this happen to someone so good at the game lol. The look on his face was so funny and real 🤣. Me (solo) and the friend I'm able to play with sometimes never got close to getting one of these the whole weekend. Didn't pick up on the triangulation stuff at first and after that always late or spawning on the other side of the world. Handing off the treasure at the end was well deserved too. Bravo!

I got a grand total of one pop up plunder. It was at an active Skelly Fort the galleon I was on was already heading to (in the Devil's Roar). It was breath of the seas and we immediately sold it to the seapost next door.

To be honest, I didn't participate much during Pop-up Plunder. The most I did during Community Weekend was a session of Hourglass matches, mostly solo. Got 5 levels out of it and am now only 20 away from Guardian 100. Just wished I was more motivated to do so...

I did hourglass too all weekend (got the ghost curse on Sunday and the skelly curse on (I think) Tuesday). If you feel demotivated, remember that every loss in the event was like a quarter of a level, so 400 losses was 100 levels. You were lvl 75 in the beginning so if you only played on Sunday (not on Saturday doesn’t change much) you would only have to lose 100 matches for your next level, wins were over a half (we’ll just say a half for simplicity) so to get 25 levels you would need 50 wins. If you win half and half 25 losses and 25 wins you get 18.5 levels. Sorry for the rant

Popup plunder sucked for me because I was not leaving the game to check social media. Just give us maps in game if it's going to stay in the game.

They could totally add a puzzle map that just randomly pops up on a server that has big loot. would basically be a new "mini fort" that people would fight over. would have to be an athena, box of wonders or chest of fortune though and it would be great. A faster run than the skull of sirens but similar idea. Also great video. Awesome tactics and rewarding win against a capable crew!

i got very lucky during the event i found some remote dead server and i've been able to dig 7 of those chests without beeing contested by anyone and it was fun to figure out where they were.. when i was at N13 and the chest wasn't there cause they messed up and i had to wait 30 min my heart was about to explode.. i kept seeing ships all around thinking they were coming for me but seems like no one was even aware of the event so i had wonderful time and got my first chest of fortune in the game..

Im playing SoT since launch. I started on xbox and switched now on Pc. What makes the Game Fun for such a long time is the encounters. Pvp and also the Roleplay-ish encounters. If we dont have them anymore, the Game is Dead. So if the High Seas are worse because there are not enough Players or "only" pvp encounters they will kill the Game. The only thing how they can greatly improve with safer seas is, make the Safer Seas into a Server Thing. Not just u and ur friends. Make em a working server where people of all kinds can meet and do what they like. If its roleplay, pve, pvp, events or challenges.

I agree with this 100%. It´s the perfect way of knowing where players you most likely wanna avoid will be on the map so you can stay away. My experience of the pop up plunder was essentially people circling and fighting islands for hours upon hours while making bank in peace myself.
