Arkansas Center for Bleeding Disorders: When your child is diagnosed with hemophilia or a bleeding disorder, managing and living with the condition can seem overwhelming. With the proper care - and a few precautions - your child can live life like most children. Sports and physical activity are encouraged because they help your child develop stronger muscles and joints, which can reduce the frequency of bleeding episodes. The Arkansas Center for Bleeding Disorders experts work with you and your child to create a care plan that keeps your child healthy while living life to the fullest. Conditions we treat include hemophilia, menstrual bleeding disorders and von Willebrand Disease.
Brain and Spinal Cord Tumor Clinic: Focusing on the expert care of pediatric and young adult patients with brain tumors, spinal tumors or neurofibromatosis (NF), our young patients have access to neuro-oncology specialists for every aspect of care.
Bone and Soft-tissue Tumor Program (Orthopedic Oncology): When your child is diagnosed with a bone tumor or sarcoma, our highly specialized group of experts use leading-edge treatment techniques to care for pediatric patients with bone and soft tissue tumors.
Sickle Cell Disease Program: Sickle cell disease is the most common genetic disorder in the United States, and early treatment is important. Arkansas Children’s diagnoses, evaluates and treats children born with the different varieties and severities of this condition.
Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program (BMT): When a child develops resistant leukemia or a genetic defect in bone marrow or the immune system, BMT can be the only curative option. We offer BMT from a variety of donors including match and mismatched donors. Cellular therapies are the most advanced form of immune therapy when a patient’s own immune system is modified to treat cancer. Arkansas Children’s has a comprehensive program for all BMT and cellular therapy needs of children.

Our treatments begin with a multidisciplinary diagnostic evaluation and range from traditional chemotherapy infusions and autologous bone marrow transplants to experimental therapeutics. A partnership with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Baptist Health allows access to cutting-edge proton beam therapy, which is especially beneficial for young patients.
