Thank you! It always drives me nuts when people ask a question about something, like "you're a physicist (which I am, and an astrophysicist) what is gravity?", and I have to say "we don't really know. We know what it does, mostly. But it doesn't behave at really small levels, and it doesn't add up at very large levels. So we can, at this point, only talk about it's effects on spacetime with what we have at our disposal right now. But I'll get back to you if we get better data." To which I get a resounding "so science can't answer any questions!" SMH Sometimes, a null answer is still an answer.

To be fair, you could have said "the curvature of space-time". They asked for a definition, not an evidenced based theory on how it operates.

@@seannesbit2218 To be fair, you could have said "our current best description of gravity is as the curvature of space-time, but we're still looking for a better definition" and left it at that. There's no need to overcomplicate things.

I'm going into physics right now and people are always like "you must be so smart to go into that" and I always tell them that anyone is smart enough to go into physics. It just takes hard work and a love for math! Just like any other discipline! I suck at writing and a lot of other things but I love math so I picked what I love! EDIT: also I love how you are like we know everything now except.... everything.

4:37 Indeed, a wave function is associated (as proposed by Luis DeBroglie, 1927) will all particles. It is fascinating! (from matter wave source) The standard interpretation is that the intensity of the wave function of a particle at any point is proportional to the probability of finding the particle at that point. This proposal was for non-zero amplitude, given the probability amplitude (probability density in probability theory), of probability. However, the initial conditions will proliferate uncertainty in the physical quantities of p, momentum (as a quantity). It has been proposed that, by the photon double slit experiment the qualities of a wave and particle have been associated with light and leptons (electron). Associating with the uncertainty principle, the initial conditions and predictions could be that a body behaves as a particle but when the physical quantities are quantified (absolutely) it could be that we would observe a body that we initially defined as a particle to be a wave, at the moment that we measured a quantity of a body? (Could our predicted direction, of what we assume it be a particle, traverse the slit however, assuming when we measure, the uncertainty of other quantities will be that our predictions, will not be certain, which will mean that our initial predicted direction of the body, either it be wave or particle, will also appear to be incorrect). Would you agree with that of the double split experiment and it’s associated uncertainty? (I’m curious, I do apologise as it is a long text) I’m only delineating the behaviour of leptons, leptons being a quantised fluctuating probability wave function. (This isn’t only for leptons)

I thought that it was established that Sheldon suffers from severe OCD. I think that alone makes it clear that he more than likely isn't like the "typical" child prodigy. If he were the normal child genius he probably wouldn't be as geeked up and competitive as Sheldon is as the lead chracter of the entire sitcom. When I say "typical", I mean as normal as a 14yr old kid graduating college with an M.A., and several doctorate degrees can be. If he were just a really smart kid that wasn't over the top in every other aspect of his personality it wouldn't be as entertaining as it is. Any kid that age carrying an entire prime time sit-com on their back has to be over the top in every way to pull it off well. You kind of come off like that therapist Sheldon's parents took him to when Dr. Sturgis was hospitalized. Only you're pointing out how different than Sheldon you are instead of how much like him you are. Your disposition reminds me of a certain hygiene product young ladies would use on a late spring day. Right On, Right on!! 😆 🤣 Thankfully, you have such a pretty face..

It's crazy how Newton's gravitational equations are technically totally wrong but work very close to 100% accuracy for anything of any significant mass. General relativity extends the gravitation into the motion of light and particles of small mass, and we have extended the concept somewhat further with gravitational waves, but the theory still doesn't explain some of the phenomena in quantum mechanics. For all we know, relativity could be "wrong" in the same way that Newtonian laws were "debunked" by Einstein 100 years ago.

Choosing the chase over the knowledge might just be one of the most selfish decisions possible. Unless other people are being offered this choice, the sheer number of humanity's problems that would be solvable with such knowledge boggles the mind.
