sir i couldnt understand that why are the charges subtracted in these case whilst they were added in previous ones i mean is there any rule to find it out whether theyll be added or subtracted?

NOW, it looked like the connection of the two caps made an even BIGGER energy transfer...I guess because 'opposite' charges were shorted, which is beginning to support my initial assumption of loss of energy by Joule heating OR EM radiation. My understanding, hopefully, is getting better!

Please sir, Are the two capacitors in this circuit in series connection?? Thanks for your great explanation
@MichelvanBiezen7 ай бұрын
Yes they are. There is only one path in the circuit.

@@MichelvanBiezen thank you for your reply, would you please tell me in details the difference between parallel and series connection in case of capacitors, I mean what is the main indicator ? Is it (1) the path (2) the connection method between positive and negative (3) the division of charge ? I am so sorry for my questions.. but really I am so so glad for your reply.. My regards

can positive charge aka proton even move in a circuit? I thought only electrons can move
@MichelvanBiezen8 ай бұрын
In the real world there is no movement of positive charges. But as a convention we do use positive current and that is the norm for most text books.

What would happen if the charges on both the capacitors were equal...
@MichelvanBiezen4 жыл бұрын
With "equal" do you mean "the same charge"? Because the magnitude of the charge is always the same on both sides, but the sign of the charges on opposite sides are always opposite.

To all the non Indians in which class do you study these concepts?
@MichelvanBiezen Жыл бұрын
Typically this is covered in the first or second year of college. In some countries around the world this is initially covered at the high school level.

sir, I would ask that you stop saying positive charges move from plate to plate because its very misleading, positive charges are stationary, negatives do the migration. I don see the need to refer to the positives when speaking of charge movement because not only is it just as simple talking of the negatives charges moving, its the right way of speaking as well. all in all, informative video all other aspects considered.
@MichelvanBiezen2 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely correct. But the convention in physics is that the positive charges move. This decision was made a long time ago when it was not known which of the charges were moving and they chose the positive charges. That has been the convention ever since.
